Great video and explanation as always. During the summer I've noticed that water often drips down from underneath the passenger area, must be condensation? Always wondered if it was a leak, but haven't seen it during cooler weather.

Great Video! Hopefully I don't ever need to do this to my 2006 Yukon! I'd have the extra step of removing the two front seats in order to get the center console out. Did you undo the steering column and the shift linkage on the driver's side?
@AnthonyJ350
@AnthonyJ350 Жыл бұрын
I just loosed the column, didn't touch the linkage since I was just moving the passenger side out. Just change your coolant regularly and hopefully your heater core doesn't leak

How long did it take you? I broke off a spindle thing that goes into the blend door actuator when trying to replace it. I’m not sure how to replace that spindle now. It’s the actuator on the bottom that goes directly to the heater core

My vents stink like a dead mouse. Any thoughts on getting rid of that? Would I be able to get a small vac hose down the vents instead of taking this all apart? The smell comes from every vent so thinking the carcass is in the heater box itself.

So my blend door actuator for driver side failed (thank goodness because I don't want to ever do passanger side again....) but I went to replace it, well the previous owners must have also done it because the actual stud the blend door slides into was broken and replaced with a bolt.... That being said any idea how to get it to where my blend door actuator and the actual door are in the same position without having to replace the door itself and do all this work😅

Very involved job . Things will definitely break . It will take alot of time , unfortunately the video makes it seem like it’s easier than it is . I’ve found that the only way to really do it is to find the best possible way to remove everything while on the process of doing so . There’s more to be removed than it seems in the video .

GM should be ashamed on this design. Dashboard should be one unit and be able to be pulled back in one piece. You have to disconnect your AC system to replace the heater core? Ridiculous. I bought a 2005 Silverado 2 months ago. Sorry I did. The Fords I had the dashboard pulled out as one unit and I replaced the heater core without dealing with the AC system. GM should be ashamed with their HVAC system.

Your 2005 Silverado is one of the longest lasting trucks on the road currently, and the whole power train is easy to work on. Did you not see how ingenious the head light design is? What do you change more often, the heater core or a head light bulb?
