I visited Tripoli as part of a 2 week food tour of Lebanon about 15 years ago. Everyone was really friendly and the food was amazing! The driving was chaotic though lol...

@@muhammadmehdi96 Yes, it was awesome! Don't eat for 2 weeks before you go - because you will eat a lot whilst you are out there! The traffic is mad - people drive with full beams on, when drunk, on teh wrong side of the road, etc. When crossing a road, don't wait for cars to stop, just wave your hand and start walking - they will stop. The people are really friendly! I speak English and 'schoolboy French'. Many people (but not all) there speak English or French, so I was able to get around okay by myself. Definitely visit Beirut (and the cable cars there - Teleferique), the Jeita Grotto and Balbek. In Tripoli I did a tour of a chocolate shop/factory, this was very interesting. Baklava is 20 layers of very thin pastry, it was nice to see it being made. Try not to take photographs of soldiers, they will (politely) tell you not to. I was taking a picture of a building (from quite far away) and the soldier waved at me to say please don't. There were soldiers all over the Beirut city centre - all friendly. Have a great time! 👍

Also, whilst I was walking around a market in Tripoli, someone came up to me and pointed at a picture of one of their leaders. I don't know what he was trying to tell me as he was speaking Abrabic, but he was quite emotive! He did it in a friendly way though 🙂
