Also this song is literally about a break up. About her finally leaving a toxic relationship. I appreciate your interpretation of it, but Jennie has said, "This song is to show that everyone is beautiful enough to shine on their own." Jennie loves her job, her company, her group, her girls and her Blinks. Don't believe what everyone tells you about the girls. They are all happy and healthy. They all have incredible work ethics and love what they do. Even the western artists and producers they have worked with have been shocked by how hard they work. They even go to the studio to work on their days off. Don't read too much into this song. Still literally about a break up 😁

I agree. And the restrictive nature of their lives has changed since Yang was forced out - they're finally getting their solo's (Jisoo got to do some acting, which was her first love), they have new BP projects coming up soon. They're smart and they know that they can be BP and do solo projects and one will feed the other. They also have a very close relationship with Teddy that no one considers. They know how instrumental he's been to their success. Leaving YG would mean leaving him. I get annoyed with all of the rumors and hair-pulling nonsense. They don't give YG or BP enough credit for knowing what's what.

@megablink fourever I really can appreciate what you just wrote. I believe they are all happy and healthy as well. I believe they got their work ethics and also their business sense of being in YG. YG, since the CEO was replaced, has done better. They do not and will not cater to the demands of the fans..they hear we want more, but they do it in their own time and way.Fans should know this by now. There are many Kpop artists out there that can’t do what these 4 have done. YG is very strict, but doesn’t hold them prisoner like so many think, these girls work hard doing much more then we realize...a lot of their “bans” have been lifted because they are no longer rookies. YG has game plan for them, always has...less is more, simple marketing strategy of supply and demand..leave us wanting more!

Blackpink arnt disbanding. They are like close close. Each of them are having solo projects Rose’ just had hers now Lisa is next. In a few weeks/month or so. The song is done they just need to work on the MV. Her schedule is crazy busy though so no one knows for sure when. She hasnt been posting lately so we know somethings cookin. Its only a matter of time.

The rules applied to them when they were a trainee..since all of them started pretty young..they not even 18.. They do drink alcohol on their own.. Rosé did drink wine during one of the vlive..they also drink during Party People.. If i'm not mistaken Jennie did have a professional driver license..but they don't usually drive because their manager drive for them mostly since they always hv a lot schedule.. They also able to write and make choices for their song..Rosé participate in the writing and preparation of her album.. 😊

I think the song does not say "bitxh", it says a word in Korean but Jennie found out that the fans believed it said that so in a performance she sing it adding the word

Kind of. In Korean you could say "bichi naneun sollo" ("bich-i" = light, "naneun" = which emits/puts out, "sollo" = solo; "a solo who emits light", or more naturally, "a shining solo"), or if you drop "i", then it blends into "binnaneun sollo". If you say it slowly without blending, "bit naneun sollo". In no scenario does it come out as "bich naneun sollo" (where "naneun" can also be translated as "I", and so "naneun sollo" literally means "I am solo"). Koreans who hear this song take a couple of seconds to process what it is she is saying, since the way she's saying it, it is not said in Korean that way. It is intentionally making a play on words, making it sound like "Bitch, I am solo". She couldn't have not realised what it sounds like.

They all drink now, and are allowed to date. If they wanted to they would probably get tattoos in the future. ALL of them have expressed how much they hate smoking. In a BLACKPINK House episode you can hear Jennie tell a random person to Stop Smoking. YG allows their Idols a lot more freedom than other companies. Also all the girls said they will still be as Blackpink 10 years from now. They aren't going anywhere anytime soon. They are going to smash the 7 year curse for girl groups. They are going to be Blackpink for a looooong time.

I think they will renew their contract and maybe change or revise some things in the contract, depends on their negotiation. Usually, when artists renew their contract in YGe, the artist/s benefit more( when it comes to division of money between the artist and the YGe, 70-30). Even now, I think it's 50-50 or 60-40. That's why many yg artists are super rich. The hindrance/struggle in staying in YGe is the endless media slander and mismanagement.

I think you're getting the wrong info about BLACKPINK and that entire being "controlled". There are a lot of immature kpop fans who only see and think what they want and create certain narratives. The strict rules were for when they were trainees and for some time underaged. Those rules don't apply anymore after they debut. There are plenty of videos of them drinking alcohol. Rosie even did an Instagram live drunk. That's where she got one of her many names, Drunksé. Jennie dated another kpop idol and is currently rumored to be dating G-Dragon. The members of BLACKPINK have on many occasions have expressed how much control they have with their careers. One of the biggest example is their debut song, "Whistle". The company didn't like that song and didn't want them to release it but they pushed for it and insisted on it. Rosie mentioned that in the Netflix documentary and their producer confirmed it. Not everything you hear is true.

This song was a brilliant marketing strategy, as jennie's first solo debut and the title is SOLO, it made all kpop fans curious and thought that jennie would left blackpink and became a soloist, but it's completely not and jennie will never leave blackpink, and the song is about love, plus the title SOLO refer her first solo. It was just a marketing strategy that made people would talked about jennie and jennie and her song became famous. However, this song was produced by same blackpink producer and promoted by YG ENT itself. 😄

Solo is written by their main producer Teddy park so its a love theme. Nothing to do with the band and blackpink disbanned. The restrictions just for the first 5 years of their contract, please known that the company trained them for 4-6 years so i think its bit of assurance to keep them clean and focus on their music, but i think after 5 years of the contract the banned is lifted. And also please be inform tha their company YG on one hand extremely strict but also the best in term of pay their artist and also invest in their artist

Sorry but you’re hearing a lot of misinformations about BLACKPINK and YGE YGE provides a lot of freedom compared to many other Ent company in Kor3a. The girls and other groups in YGE take part in almost all parts of their art, choreo, lyrics, outfits, promo, composing, their live concerts/shows ….. Some fans think the girls have no freedom because they don’t produce as much music as other groups but it’s clear that it’s their strategy as mentioned in their documentary

Bruh, you are reading too far into this. The song is about her giving an ex the finger. While she performed this song, Blackpink members were in the crowd cheering her on AND they were in the studio making "How You Like That" and all the other songs from "The Album" ... and more songs we haven't heard yet. The only double meaning is that she's doing a song solo and the song is about giving the ex the finger. Each member will have their solo moment. You have a good point about this being about the industry, cause ever since Blackpink debuted she is the most commented one in Korea, she's the korea IT girl and she's the top of branding reputation there, she's either loved or hated, but everyone knows her there. She was also the first one to go solo cause she was the one who trained the longest and she knew the hate that this would bring to the first person, so she always takes the responsability in these situations, even Lisa says she's perfect, cause she's always the one to make the hard decisions for the group. She has a fierce badass persona on stage, but off stage she's super cute and sensitive.
