The loft (music venue in atlanta) is similar to the venue in the video, your close enough to the band to fist bump them if they choose to, crazy fun time at shows there

I'd say that would go to Pete Sandoval but Morbid Angel is far from thrash. So that'd have to go to Dave Lombardo. But they were also far from traditional thrash. Even though they get lumped as being part of the Big 4. So I guess you could argue that Charlie is indeed the king as far as thrash is concerned.

When life gets too serious, it's time for some Gung-Ho. Best music video ever.
@robi-wo9mc2 жыл бұрын
I don't know, maybe it's just my impression but I feel Anthrax have never taken themselves too seriously.Which doesn't mean they joke about everything. Especially not about racial and xenophobic stuff which are the main theme of the Persistence of Time album.
@Pharmacymusic12 жыл бұрын
@@robi-wo9mc Very true. They can be as serious as Metallica etc. in their music, but they also have a fun side that most other metal bands do not. They are also one of the only bands who addresses the racial and xenophobic stuff. Indians is another good example.
@robi-wo9mc2 жыл бұрын
@@Pharmacymusic1 Yep, I've also given Indians as an example of the song that addresses such themes in some other thread. Maybe the reason Anthrax are sensitive about these issues is that two most exposed members of the band are not pure WASPs (Joey's mother is a Native American while Ian is a Jew) and as such have experienced some negative attitude because of their origin. Just speculating. But one thing we know for sure: Ian IS very sensitive about it which tells us the following anecdote. In January 2016 there's been a concert in hommage to deceased Pantera's Dimebag where Anselmo gave a nazi salute and yelled some nonsence about white power. Many known musicians were there at that gig and they took it very harshly. Ian Scott was also there and told subsequently that he had "zero tolerance for any of this [hate speech, racism, inflammatory rhetoric] and to not speak out against it is as dangerous as the act themselves....".

Spreading the Disease is the second studio album by the American thrash metal band Anthrax, released on this day 10/30/85 by Megaforce Records and Island Records. It was the band's first album to feature vocalist Joey Belladonna and bassist Frank Bello. A special two-disc edition of the album was released in 2015, celebrating its 30th anniversary.
