I love watching vids of people who love what they're doing so much! They remind me of me - because family and friends don't share my interests. But when you video what you're doing you can talk about it as much as you want and there's nobody around to say, "Yeah, that's great, can we talk about something else now?" ROFL!!! And with vids, you can connect with people who actually share your actual interest! The plants that have been in the bag for 15 months - I think that's normal. If they don't get room to explore right away, as in their own pot, keeping them surrounded with buddies is the next best thing. Plants need something to do - soil to explore, buddies to play with, they're not particularly picky but they do all of their physical activity at the roots, not the top growth people get in so much of a hurry to see...

Thanks for the sub! Quite the coincidence as I was literally watching this video a few days ago. Brilliant video, super helpful for those getting into Anthuriums as it can be difficult to find detailed information on how to deal with Anthurium seeds/seedlings

That’s awesome, congrats on starting your new addiction! 😉 What did you end up getting? Come to think of it, it’s probably time I do that “Best starter Anthuriums” video folks have asked me for several times now…

@@theproppist I got a few very small magnificum starter plants, a decent sized juvenile Clarinervium, a Regale about the same size, and one villenaorum :) I have some others on my list but they’ll have to wait until I can save up since they’re pricier ones

Nice! A. magnificum is a beast - they can get really big and they're super easy care from my experience. Clarinerviums can be hit or miss - I've had a couple and they both behaved pretty differently. They're beautiful but I find the crystallinum significantly easier to manage, as they're both pretty comparable in price, normally. Anthurium regale is a totally different matter, lol! 😱 They do well for me in high humidity but they absolutely _hated_ being in room humidity. I hope they do better for you than they did for me when I tried to keep mine out in the open! The villenaorum is much easier to get now than they were during the pandemic (I'm trying not to remember how much I spent on my first one) -- Ecuagenera has them now for pretty reasonable prices. I find they're really good in room conditions but they're super slow growers and they're prone to root rot, so I'd suggest keeping an eye on it until it settles into your climate.

Just recently bought my first set of Anthurium crystallinum dark seedlings. Super excited as I love to watch plants grow from seed, chonks, basically from nothing! This was a good video for me thank u

Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the comment! The Crystal "Dark" is super easy care from my experience -- crystallinums are tough as nails and super hard to kill, plus they do great in various types of semihydro (I have mine in both pon and leca with no problems.) The "Dark" is even more resilient than the base plant from what I've seen. The only things to watch out for with seedlings is that they (a) don't dry out (can happen in tiny containers or with heat mats) and (b) they don't get root rot (can happen in semi-hydro if you use too large of a pot or keep your water levels too high.) I'm sure yours will do great, keep us posted!
