Even Pakistan would be athiest country with this political system could not survive. I give you an example, north Korea an athiest country ruled by one leader. No rule of law no individual freedom, South Sudan a Cristian country but have corrupt politicians. Many muslim democratic where rule of law and individual freedom exist are doing good job these are Malaysia, Indonesia, azerbaijan and maldives. So the problem is not religion, the only solution that ensures prosperity is strong political system which has smooth transfer of power, ruled by law, give individual freedom and free or atleast have very low corruption can thrive toward development.
