This week, a mini-session of the European Parliament was held in Brussels, at which I appealed to my colleagues to start fighting all manifestations of xenophobia in the EU before this virus takes on catastrophic proportions.
By turning a blind eye and allowing the growth of some forms of xenophobia in countries such as Latvia, the EU leadership itself stimulates the growth of national intolerance in other countries as well. If this process is not stopped now, it may become irreversible.
