I was diagnosed with small fiber neuropathy a year ago. When I was 6 months old I was kissed on the face and got herpes simplex 1. In massage school 2009 -2010 I learned anatomy, physiology, kinesiology & pathology & how to SOAP chart people. We were taught to do medical research and figure things out because we were manipulating people's bodies & can hurt or kill them if we don't know what we are doing. Started having major problems then. There were many signs before that but it got way worse. Tendonititis in my arms, neck and back pain got worse. Never could do massage. Since 2010 my symptoms have gotten progressively worse. I noticed that I would get flares a few weeks before a breakout. Like clockwork, as soon as the blister popped, the symptoms subsided. Like when the virus was released from my body I got relief. Doctors ignored this. We were taught how to do medical research and by fate in school my group research project drew our pathologies out of a hat and we got herpes. I noticed the links to herpes and so many idiopathic diseases it was not even funny. Seems the virus being attracted to injury & stress outside the body and inside starts a positive inflammatory feedback loop exacerbating things into problems that your body would have otherwise healed. Even degenerative disc disease in 20something year olds. They found herpes DNA in the degenerated discs. Same with Alzheimers plaques. Anyways, I would get flares with my menstral cycles that got longer and longer. A week before, during and after my period. Had 1 good week a month. Took birth control and skipped the period week to get rid of them completely. I have had extreme back pain since a teenager. Neck pain since about 8 years old. Popping my neck. I think from having a horse that liked to buck. Probably got whiplash that was exacerbated by the herpes and never healed. MRI showed some damage but can't see inflammation. Lumbar puncture for MS neg but the neurologist refused to test for herpes DNA in the spinal fluid because 'I wouldn't know how to read the results'. I asked him if he reads his MRIs and X rays. Blank stare. Kaiser ignored me, told me to get off this viral thing for a decade. I was blown off time and again like it was all in my head. Doctor agreed to give me Fibromyalgia diagnosis but refused to put it in the medical records. Switched to a good hospital group and they found small fiber neuropathy. Now, I have always had constipation that got worse and worse. It is so bad now that I failed the barium swallow and balloon test down there. Food gets stuck the whole way down. If I didn't take a supplement to turn my food into liquid, I would get megacolon. I can't pass solid stool. At all. I can hardly eat and I was a total foodie. Am a fantastic gourmet cook, even of ethnic foods from around the world. Can't digest meat anymore at all. Can only eat once a day once the food I ate previously is gone. My urinary tract is messed up. Repeat UTIs, even with prophylaxis. I have had burning skin sensation. Especially if I get an infection of any kind. I feel like I am dying. I feel like I am dying anyways. Brain fog, malaise, pain everywhere. I sweat so bad I have to rotate the towels I sleep between and they still soak thru to the sheets. I day sweat at times too. I shake and am weak, have malaise. Joint pain has gotten to be everywhere and random. When I drive it is my hips and knees, sometimes ankles and rotator cuffs. Stiff hands in the morning. I went thru a period of time where my blood pressure was thru the roof and had chest pain. Had to take blood pressure meds that didn't seem to effect anything. It went away randomly. Possibly when I stopped working. I was getting edema in my legs. I am sensitive to medications and have inflammatory reactions. Heat intolerance. Makes me feel like I am dying. I can't take the heat at all. Run a low grade fever all the time. Pretty much, what symptoms don't I have is a better question. Oh and I have some very scary mottling on my back one time. Looked like a corpse. Anyways just had a positive ANA. Lupus fits. Lupus can be caused by herpesviruses. Small fiber neuropathy can be caused by lupus and herpes. Herpes is the root of all evil imo. I find it funny that chickens have had multiple herpes vaccines since 1960 but humans have had only chickenpox shingles vaccines. They don't want to allow funding into anything to cure or eradicate herpes. They allow the studies to go thru stage 1 and 2 trials but then they just disappear. For example, Dr. Pridgen's Fibromyalgia herpes study that was FDA fast tracked to stage 3 trials and then just disappeared. All he was doing was treating with an anti-inflammatory and antivirals. He found herpes simplex 1 in all the gut tissues of his Fibro patients. Gastroenterologist. Alzheimers. Heard neurology researchers say that they aren't allowed to look into it. Won't be funded. Not allowed to study the link even tho they found herpes simplex 1 DNA in all the brain plaques. For example on This Week in Virology. The neurology episode from about a year ago. Toward the end before they read emails. Look into the medical literature for links to herpes and idiopathic disease. I think you will be shocked what u find. I think that herpes inflammation is the cause of almost all of these diseases. Look how COVID targets so many systems. They used to tell me viruses don't do these things. They can't say that anymore. What do you expect from a lifelong nerve virus? That it isn't going to demyelenate the nerves? That the inflammation isn't going to trigger an autoimmune response? Perposterous. Cash cow for stockholders. I wish more ppl in the medical field had some integrity and some balls. If they cured herpes, they would cure the world. That is my opinion. No money in curing people though, just in treating symptoms. I think I have lupus. Being referred to a rheumatologist. The problem with these diseases is no one is asking why. Why do they manifest? Also, I find it odd that when they 'humanize' lab animals they don't infect them with the same viruses we carry because they certainty would get different results if they did.

Oh yeah and forgot that during the last few breakouts, I got numbness in that dermatome. I could also push on the blister and the pain would shoot right up the nerve to the spot in my neck where the pain emanates from. Numb spot on my mid back too where I have pain and also on my scalp where I have 2 tender spots on nerve endings. The numbness is on the skin but the pain is still inside.

I went to the doctor because I have been having some hair breakage. At first I thought it could be due my chemotherapy from when I had colon cancer. I realized it been a year since my last treatment and most hair starts regrowing after three to six months after treatment is over. My oncologist said for the type chemo I got I wouldn’t lose my hair. My doctor drawn some blood and it came back positive for lupus. I also tested positive for inflammation and homogenous pattern was high.

UpToDate: “The ANA test is positive in virtually all patients with SLE at some time in the course of their disease. If the ANA is positive, one should test for other specific antibodies, such as anti-dsDNA, anti-Smith (anti-Sm), Ro/SSA, La/SSB, and U1 ribonucleoprotein (RNP), which are described further below. In some labs, a positive ANA test by indirect immunofluorescence will automatically result in testing for such additional ANA that are often present in patients with SLE. However, a positive ANA must also be interpreted in the setting of other clinical and laboratory findings. Almost 15 percent of the population in the United States has been found to have a positive ANA of at least 1:80 by indirect immunofluorescence, but only 10 percent have a true autoimmune disorder.”

I have a question. Can there be an ANA pattern centromere (associated w/CREST) that is very high (Say 1/3600 but no antibody?) In other words could the ANA be reading a pattern that has no attack to the antibody in question? I only ask because it was commented to me that you can have a very high ANA pattern but no antibody. Doesn't ANA stand for antinuclear antibody, thus indicating antibodies are involved? So how could the results of this test just be showing pattern and not antibody activity? I appreciate any light you can shed on this. ---And in this hypothetical we will say the clinical manifestations most certainly match the ANA findings.

I'm newly diagnosed with Autoimmune disease..been searching for understanding test results for us mere humans. Ya know, the ones without medical training. I stumbled upon your collection and find it kinda helpful. I think I need to keep searching for something to help me better understand the test results. I'm aware that I could be looking at years without an official diagnosis to which specific disorder I have. But if my past medical experience has taught me anything, it's that I have to be my own advocate. No one is going to advocate for me, or even take the time to answer my questions without making me feel like I'm a bother bc I don't hold a degree in Rheumatology. I'll keep my search going for the answers I deserve. But thanks for your somewhat helpful videos. 🫡
