About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.

Just a thought: Instead of buying portraits of people that you don't know, why not have portraits or photos of each of you done and put in antique frames. Dress up to the nines. Rent a tux or period suit. Find a beautiful gown for Tracy. Perhaps your friends in other Chateaus have costumes that you might borrow. After all, you are the keepers of the castle. 😀😘

I thoroughly agree! The cost to the painter wouldn’t be that much more but the painting would be priceless. I don’t know how much a good, pretty frame would cost, I’ve just had a few things framed at Michaels here and when they have a 70% off sale it’s dirt cheap to get truly beautiful frames. For the size and style they are looking for, $300 at the very most.

I like to paint and often go to thrift shops and section hand shops to browse the picture second. I'm more interested in the frame then the picture so when I find one that I like, I remove the picture and replace it with my own. Their pictures would look great in older more ornate frames that are in keeping with the chateau.

I think that the find of the trip was that chair at the beginning that Ash sat in as it fit his body so snugly and his smile showed his comfort and that is difficult to find in a chair.

Terry back in the cold war years many of the military wives would repair paintings that been damaged over years. keep ear out in your local community bet they can repair & you won't even see it! Its beautiful!

I would think landscapes or still lifes would work better for the suite, maybe domestic scenes. Save the portraits for public areas. That chandelier Carol was looking at seemed the right size. Fun shopping with you for antiques as my wife doesn't care to. Looking doesn't cost anything

I noticed that there were 2 lights of grapes but the one I was referring to be the 1st one I saw that had the dark grapes almost brown ( probably purple. Looks brown on video.) and white all over. This one I was talking about above has blown glass and that is what makes the chandelier appraised high.@@ashleywaters7198

So I was so struck by the chandelier that Rob found. The titanic era one that I want to make a proposal. Start a go fund me, do any kind of fund raiser. I’ll contribute the first $200 to make this happen. Anyone else think is a good idea. The price was 1200 and it would be perfect for the 400 suite. Please respond and make this happy for terry and ash. They liked it and thought it was over priced. We can all help.

Absolutely stunning it blows my mind when I think of all the detail that you have put into it over the month, just wow!. I have one wonder of the TV that goes in the Salon.I’m hoping that you have some amazing way of framing it with an old frame so it doesn’t look like a TV in the room because I personally feel it would make it such a nice saw in such an amazingly detailed room. I love when you guys shop at brocants. Here in the USA, we are lucky to find anything 100 to 150 years old. You guys shop amongst items that can be 200 to 300 years old....if not older!!!

I love watching the brocante tours. But some of those pieces like the ttrumeau at 9:10 approx. are so simple and modern you could make something as good yourself with modern moldings and appliques. You did a good job with the ceilings'.

The chandelier going to A,Erica - I did that, fell in love with a chandelier in Portugal for $100 euros. Shipped to America - $300 euros. Rewired and new sockets for American electricity - $500. Hanging it in my two story foyer - 3 men, an 18 ft ladder and $300 to hang it. But I still love it….
