I remember when interior designers in Louisville catered to the extremely wealthy selling them ‘period’ American and English antique furniture. Their buying trips to New York and Europe were fairy tale stories. ‘Estate’ jewelry and fine sterling was another wealth building platform. I met some of these folks. They still put their pants on the same way the rest of us did. The furniture tour reminded me of how much fun it was being a ‘bottom feeder’ in those days. Keep on dealing in memories, not investments. This has been fun. Thanks.

Oh WOW! So many beautiful furniture! I love octogon oak end tables! Drop leave tables. I've never seen that many in one setting. What a wonderful place! 😂 Even the floor is showing it's age with the creaks and groans!! I'd spend a fortune there! Too far for me tho. Thank you for showing all the wonderful vintage items. I love the old furniture! Picked up a dry sink someone made, wanted one for my kitchen. Got it yesterday. Loved the oak bookcase! I love old books! Of course, the China and pink depression glass! Love it all! Been picking up grandma’s crystal the last few months! I am happy, fortunate! Tfs!

Oh my goodness! Don't you wish you had the room for some of that beautiful furniture? I was in love with those beautiful shops. I don't know how you were able to go through them all in such a timely manner. It would take me forever! I was laughing to myself when you said you'll have to take us sometime to the Railroad area. You really are taking us to these places aren't you. I'd love going to these places physically, problem is I would have to bring a huge truck to take home everything that I would NEED to have😊

Oh me, Oh my! Loved the $200 bookcase, the shield back dining set nearby with the blue needlepoint chairs and then the grand china closet! No comparison of quality and craftsmanship to new furniture - wish the younger folks would understand this. Sometimes you just have to learn it for yourself. Thanks for showing the homes across the street - absolutely charming.

Love the antique store.When you were looking out the window at the red house, I could live there. I used to own one built in 1907. This furniture will be around long after the crap people buy new.

My parents have a Morris chair in their house. There's these grooves carved into the arms, which extend behind the chair for the metal rod to sit in and adjust accordingly. There was a jaw-dropping collection of vintage furniture in that first store! Was it all pretty much Victorian era?

The stuff in that store was pretty nice for the most part. Nothing was really fantastic though..

We have a farm in the woods here🇩🇪. You could rent a room and "bed and board" there. They have such a massive darkbrown cabinet there, with actual devil's👹 heads carved at the front. Why did they do that⁉️

Awe! I hate seeing taxidermy done on animals. It's basically a trophy and It's seems so gruesome to me to have dead animal's hanging in your living room. Beauty is definitely, in the eye of the beholder!

It's not that I mind painted furniture because sometimes the finish and the piece is just too far gone, and to be honest and fair, if you watch enough furniture flippers here on KZfaq many a piece of furniture has been saved from its destination to the local landfill by flippers, and have been turned lovely and have a new and fresh life , I used to hate it also? but honestly I gave them a break and started watching purely out of boredom and found some do actually beautiful pieces out of ugly, broken, horrible pieces no one wants ..not everyone in this modern day wants old frowny, browny, anitque furniture in their decor.. BUT!! I can say leave it to a creative and artistic professional flipper...PLEASE! lets not have those hideous examples of a painted anything.. ever AGAIN..lol .. *whispers* Words cannot describe how ugly that chest was
