I read an interview with him not too long ago about this. He was actually very happy. Since the money went to children’s charity, he said it worked out good for everyone. And just imagine the business his shop got after that!

After watching this as an American who frequents auctions. I wish our auctioneers spoke like this. You can actually understand them. I don’t understand why ours have to talk so fast and mumbled. The first time I went to an auction, I bid against myself because I had no clue what he was saying. 😂

Over here carauctions they speak fast but antique auctions they go slow but if u don’t bid quick enough they say sold. It makes people bid quicker and higher quick Y.

I don't know how you cope with the constant over dramatisation of absolutely everything living in the USA. I find it exhausting

Probably a combination of two things: the faster they go the less time people have to speak and the more likely they are to get swept into a back-and-forth bidding war. The less intelligible they are the easier it is for people to lose track of how much they're actually bidding and may over-extend themselves. tl;dr manipulation tactics for your money.
