It is a good day out when Michael Aspel takes the experts to Blackpool to dig up seaside treasures. There is a programme for the 1936 cup tie between Blackpool and Bolton signed by the players, including Stanley Matthews, a very rare salt-glazed mug made for a supporter of Bonnie Prince Charlie and an unusual medal awarded for selling Hoovers in the 1930s. And Michael Aspel discovers the predecessor of his big red book.

Everyone stumped at what the V stands for in VSM with picturing a Hoover, is SO British!! 🤣 It’s *Vacuum.* Hoover is a brand of vacuum. It’s a Vacuum Sales Medal🏅

Americans are yelling out, “Vacuum! They’re vacuums! Hoover is a brand of vacuum, but y’all refer to all vacuums as hoovahs aka hoovers.”

Gee, what could th letter V stand for on a Hoover sales medal? Something they were selling that started with that letter, perhaps? Can’t think of what that might have been…
