Having a fine art gallery, one of the most important things to remember is when you haul framed art, make sure to always stack the framed art back to back. This will keep the frames on your artwork from damage. :-) So enjoyed your excursion!

I repaired antique frames professionally for years, here we go... for the comp ( filigree) working in 4 to 6 " sections and a toothbrush clean with denatured not rubbing alcohol then lift dirt with a soft cotton rag dry. Most old frames are ruined by moisture (garages or stored in damp attics)

Hi Laura, For your oil painting, get a soft cotton cloth and linseed oil (you can either hand spray [go to your local art store, they sell a canister specifically made for "blowing / spraying" the linseed oil onto the painting and gently dab with your cloth; **BE CAREFUL NOT TO OVER SATURATE THE CANVAS, let dry over night and bring it into the light to see how much was absorbed by the canvas -- this process may need to be repeated a few more times, before you hang it up) ...BTW love the iron urns, can't wait to see where you are going to place them in your garden! ALSO, please thank your Mom and Monica for including us in today's outing, it felt like being part of your family :-)
