Man muss Manfred Honeck hier aber auch wieder ein großes Lob aussprechen. Mit ihm spielt das NDR so voller Leidenschaft und auf höchstem Niveau. Toll, wie der 4 Satz beim Dvorak losgeht.

Manfred Honeck has recently been one of my favorite conductors. His movements remind me of the legendary Carlos Kleiber. Love his interpretation of Dvorak's 8th Symphony as well.

The most magical of Dvorak's symphonies and perhaps of the post-romantic symphonic genre, I have listened it since when I was able to use my reason, the impression was so tremendous that it was impregnated in my memory and became my favorite symphony at an early age, I used to listen it almost every day until I memorized it. I think. from the 7th Dvorak symphony, he seals his personal imprint, the previous ones are derived especially from the symphonic current of Brahms, a composer whom he greatly admired. It is evident and almost true , that he would not have written this amazing beautiful and unique symphony, without his 3-year stay in New York, since, it is evident the melodic phrases that the composer uses in the second and third movements in particular, making use of "musical black thematic "like the melancholic "blues ", and ritual dances of the the Indians, and the use of the melodic pentatonic scales , hidden clearly within of an european harmony. Thanks once more NDR EO for this memorable concert. Please next recording take into account the dB levels of recording , it was a little bit low......

Magnifica interpretación de la célebre Novena Sinfonia conocida con "Del Nuevo Mundo" del genial compositor checo A.Dvorak que sin ninguna duda es su mejor y más conocida obra. Si a todo esto añadimos una excelente orquesta y un gran director como es Manfred Honeck el resultado final no puede ser otro que una auténtica maravilla para nuestros oídos. BRAVO !!! Beautiful! The expanse and depth of the sound image, so fitting to the character of this beautiful symphony, put me in the best seat in the hall. Thank you Maestro Honeck and NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra, and kudos to the tonmeisters for this wonderful recording. I wish to hear what Mr. Toyada has to say about this recording. Excellent camera work, too.

Glad NDR is still playing on even during the pandemic! As always great performance of my favorite Symphony! Covid took live performances with audiences away but your music making ability is just as great as ever! Also I do think that the audio is a bit soft here, other than that it's amazing

Wunderschöne und detaillierte Aufführung dieser spätromantischen und ein bisschen ethnisch komponierten Sinfonie mit gut phrasierten und perfekt vereinigten Tönen aller Instrumente. Der zweite Satz klingt besonders schön und echt sehnsüchtig mit mildem Ton des genialen englischen Horns. Der erfahrene und intelligente Maestro dirigiert das perfekt trainierte Orchester im gut betrachtetren Tempo und mit sorgfältig kontrollierter Dynamik. Die soziale Distanzierung zwischen den allen Bläser ist auch perfekt. Alles ist bewundernswert!

In my opinion, the sound of the recording is too exciting, with too much detail. The brass is playing in front of me and not in the back row of the orchestra. However, this is still an excellent performance and recording which can't help clapping after listening to it in front of the computer.
