Yeah you can see that he's really feeling what he's playing musically instead of just regurgitating it out mechanically, there's phrasing and articulation, which really nails that neoclassical vibe he's going for. And he has that onstage confidence that you'd usually see in an adult. He knows that he's killing it.

Dude..... the kid is 12 years old! How can you expect more of a 12yr old musician than this? Personally I think your ego got hurt when you saw the video, and you had to put him down to feel better about yourself. That's the only reason I can think of why ANYONE would EVER talk shit about the performance of a CHILD, no matter how good or bad it is. I can't wait to see this kid at the peak of his potential. VERY good work! :)

This kid has true soul because it's obvious to me that he really loves his guitar and the sounds he can make with it. If you're putting all your time into being able to play like this it tells me that you really love doing it, just because it's fast doesn't mean that there's no soul there, he just loves the sound of his guitar and the sound that he produces with it, so gtfo you soul-less people trying to tell me he has no soul.

These are classical pieces written for violin... it's a solo, but none of it is mindless wanking. There are thousands of solo performance pieces in the classical world, and he just so happened to arrange several well recognized pieces for electric guitar. It's when art meets pure technique and flawless performance. It was very well executed in my opinion. I, for one, greatly enjoyed it.

people aren't clapping because they know he's just one of those Japanese robots. That's why the other guitarist doesn't have a look of either "I will kill you after the show" or "holy crap!"

TLDR I’ll preface this necro-post by saying that this kid is better at 14 than I am at 56 and way better than I’ll ever be. I am saying this in advance so that maybe my critique will not get flamed (though it probably will, oh well). The unfathomable virtuosity shown by this kid demonstrates two things gloriously: 1. Practice breaks all barriers eventually, except one: 2. Experience cannot be practiced. When playing by himself, it is beyond extraordinary, and beyond anything I’ll ever achieve. When playing with the band, his youth and inexperience pokes its head ever-so-slightly above the surface, which is not a criticism but merely an inevitability for almost anyone of any talent level at that age. It just goes to show that you should try to find others to play with as soon as you can, and play with them as often as you can. Also, it’s a good to try to make other bands members sound better AS PART of your practice. Listen to what THEY are doing and try to think of what you can play to enhance their part. Unbelievably awesome and inspiring stuff!

There must be 10 vids of him playing this same classical piece. I guess when you've played it 1000 times, you can do it in your sleep.

The kid's 14 give the kid some credit. You could be playing your whole life but never good as the kid is, so you're wrong about that too.

95% of guitarrrist will never get his level and skill, they can practice it 1000 times, most of them won't get it right at all.

@Den Vy этим фанатикам хоть ссы в глаза - всё божья роса. к Фреду и электрогитаре следует относиться как к Невскому и синематографу. Уот так уот.
