From what I've seen in the small dosage I've gotten from David Morrell Jr over his last few fights that boy is SCARY! The potential is really next level. I don't see many holes in his game at all so far but obviously the opponents haven't been that great but man.. That's a tough fight for Benavidez even this early on and really rate him.. IMO Morrell Jr could possibly be the best in the division in the future from the minimal eye test I've seen..

I disagree. They can't have it both ways. They can't praise Canelo as being the man to beat and claim that no one wants to fught him or no one can beat him, and then put him in the Boxing Protection Program at the same time. You can't do that. Morrell is essentially a nobody at the moment. You are supposed to go after the Top Dog. If THEY say it's Canelo, then that's who Benavides should go after.

David has never "chased" Canelo considering he refused to take fights to be frontrunner and couldn't even bother holding on to a belt. Team Benavidez publicly rejected unifying with Plant when they were both champs despite knowing Canelo was looking to line up the titles saying they needed more time and instead cherrypicked Angulo. David then took himself out of unification completely by losing the belt blowing weight. Afterward he was given a number one shot at the 175 belt but once again David refused to step up just to fight randos and be inactive. Fact is, Canelo did David wanted no part of, 168 undisputed including Plant who he ducked then moved up for bigger challenge in the division David refused to compete in despite his size. The only person who ever held David back was himself and his lack of ambition. David just whines about Canelo because he's entitled and looking for someone to blame for fumbling the bag. David finally stepped up for the first time in his career 2 months ago fighting Plant AFTER Canelo already laid him out and David didn't look like the next level hyped monster he was hyped to be.

Listen Trevor it is his right to fight Canelo. He is the true 168 champion he never lost. They took his belt when he was off season no fight schedule for using cocaine.
