Valencia was one of my favourite United players from that era. Underrated by many who compared him unfavourably with Ronaldo, and who also erroneously criticised his defensive awareness (never his commitment) - but I think that's also rather unfair because he wasn't playing his natural position when he played that role at United (which he did more towards the end of his career). I think the fact he could play almost as a right back (or wing back) bares testament to his footballing-IQ, his speed, strength and character as a team player. Indomintably strong on the ball and could beat players too. I just loved they way he could blast in a low cross, and he could pick players out, too. Plus, he scored and assisted some absolutely iconic, goal of the season contenders.

Sin exagerar Antonio Valencia fue y es uno de los mejores volantes por derecha del mundo 🌎 que he visto en la actualidad, sobre todo su calidad para levantar la cabeza y dar pase al mejor posicionado para hacer el gol, y sobretodo por cumplir órdenes de su entrenadores y directores técnicos bajando a cumplir función de marcador lateral derecho, unas buenas labores defensivas excelentes, sin duda Toño era un Crack sera dificil volver a tener un jugador de estas cualidades nuevamente en Ecuador ojalá me equivoque, pero es difícil porque en Latinoamérica no han habido hasta el momento, la manera de asistir y correr a una gran velocidad con cabeza levantada solo lo he visto a Antonio Valencia, o recuerdan lo que le hizo a los Argentinos en el mes de octubre del 2015, los basureo a todos por el costado derecho, tenia que marcarlo de a tres y aun asi no podian pararlo, tremenda potencia física y técnica. Ojala volvamos a ver a un nuevo Toño Valencia en el mundo algo muy dificil.

Im from Ecuador, i really miss this era, our Antonio Valencia, from my country played in one of the most popular and powerfull teams of the world, the red devils, sir Alex Ferguson was a great coach, and finally im a big fan of liga de quito, you really know this team, we played the club world cup final in Japan in 2008, grettings from Quito!! Te falto Robin Van Persie, Berbatov, Chicharrito, Welbek, Nani, sigo diciendo que Antonio Valencia es uno de los mejores asistidores que vi en el fútbol mundial, y también cumplió funciones de Marcador Lateral Derecho, cosa muy difícil en el fútbol, ser regular y protagonista en dos posiciones diferentes, sin nombrar lo que aporto también para el Wigan, en el Club Deportivo El Nacional, y en la tricolor, Toño era un jugadorazo, dificil de reemplazar,

@@crackslatinos7439 Novoa es un jugador muy bueno y merece un homenaje, pero Valencia se llevó siempre elogios de todo el Manchester United ganó muchas veces el mejor jugador del club y si mal no recuerdo también un titulo como mejor lateral de la premier. Insisto en que Novoa es uno de los mejores de la historia del Ecuador pero le falto llegar a un equipo más grande.

En Ecuador no puedes jugar como en la premier, Ecuador tiene un futbol prehistórico, cavernicola, Valencia haría maravillas en la liga pro pero aca no hay futbol, solo faltas, juego retenido, mañoserias etc..

@@damiangualli9650 Solo fue nombrado una temporada. Para que sea leyenda en inglaterra tiene que tener algun logro maximo asistidor de la liga o goleador, o record de partidos, etc y valencia no tiene nada de eso.
