The instrument is a soprano chalumeau - very beautiful sound and related to the clarinet .

Talbot writes that the chalumeau was considered ancient and antiquated already in Vivaldi's days... but he liked to experiment at the Pietà...

Alessandro De Marchi is not «The artist». Tough very good, he is simply the conductor. That magnificent voice is Magdalena Kožená's. A pearl !
