Piękny samolot z przecudownym dźwiękiem silnika. Słychać te litry w cylindrach... W Dromaderze jest identyczny ASZ62-IR tyle że bez "tłumika". Dźwięk i sama maszyna równie piękna. Ciary na plecach jak się to w realu słyszy :D

Potwierdzam, aż "dudni w klacie" jak na koncercie - dla mnie dźwięk pierwsza klasa, od razu przypominają mi się silniki gwiazdowe z 2WŚ np. P-47 brzmi podobnie ;) Wszedłem tutaj właśnie po to, aby sobie posłuchać, bo ostatnio nie miałem na żywo okazji.

Well it´s an electric starter spinning a flywheel,then you engage the wheel to the engine via a clutch.Thats the spinning down sound.Used for the millenial falcon.Do not know why this was used.There might be an pre-oil pump engaged at the same time,not sure.

I thought the same thing, LOL! The noise is the heavy flywheel engaging the engine. They do this because the torque required to turn a radial engine over would burn out a starter motor in no time. The electric motor's job is only to spin the heavy flywheel up to speed.

Naturally Han Solo used inertial starter to exceed light speed. This is a standard procedure.

@@spacemutt1978 first soviet engines (right after revolution when half of the country were destroyed and half of europe sent intervents to split Russia) were licensed Wright engines. After start of ww2 soviet engineers modified them to make it more suitable to environment and have created their own models. BTW this interventions were source of neverending hybrid war which have affected you by "russian engineering inferiority" propaganda

Ан-2 была рабочей лошадкой гражданской авиации СССР. О том,что Ан-2 устарел говорили еще в 1948 году, но говорили,в основном те,кто летал в качестве пассажира. Я отдал этой машине 10 лет жизни. Приходилось летать в Арктике,над тайгой,в пустыне, выполнять перелеты через всю страну. У каждого самолета есть недостатки,но лучшего человечество до сих пор не придумало. Как легкий транспортный самолет Ан-2 широко использовался в ВВС и в Воздушно-десантных войсках. Первоначально он и создавался для армии,но военные от него отказались,и тогда благодаря Г.Ф.Байдукову (был вторым пилотом при перелете Чкалова через Северный полюс в 1937), Ан-2 взят «Аэрофлотом» (тогда Главное управление ГВФ) для работы на Севере. Широкое применение Ан-2 (авиахимработы, авиалесоохрана,геофизика и т.д.) началось чуть позже.

Самолёт производился в СССР, Польше, Бразилии, Китае. Летал по всему миру. Самолёт прост в управлении, с высокими лётными характеристиками, служил школьной партой для начинающих пилотов. Его даже летчикам испытателям, не разу, не удалось вогнать в штопор. Как они это, не пытались сделать. Самолет настолько уникален, что замены ему, нет и по сей день.

Nice aircraft for skydivers and avionic lovers. The fotographer apperently doesn't know NOT to stay perdendicular to the prop (at 4:46) but he knows not to stay behind the aircraft on start up o;).

What does that flywheel weigh? Anybody know? Oh, and how many rpms does it spin up to before you engage it? I once tried to use the big crank to spin up the flywheel on a Stearman ..... he he hehe .... nnno. All 160 lbs. of me hanging from that crank like it was the monkey bars... didn’t budge ... owner standing there laughing his ass off ...

air&tech...thank you for your reply. Have you ever test or use a mobile gas with 95 octane? In my country we’re using and mobile gas for the radial engine, because of avgas is highly expensive compare to mobile gas.

@@rommelsobremisana5232 it probably will work, albeit with the lifespan of the lovely motor being reduced. May I inquire as to what you intend to do with this information? Are you trying to run an ASh-62 on 95 octane or merely asking out of curiosity? Or are you just "asking for a friend"?

+Janusz Barlasz na czas długiego postoju do cylindrów wstrzykuje sie troche oleju w celu zabezpieczenia przed korozją, co jakiś czas należy przekręcić ręcznie śmigłem (np. raz na tydzień), przed pierwszym uruchomieniem wykręca sie swiece i korek na dnie kolektora wydechowego aby "wygonic" olej przed odpaleniem (zapobiega to hydroudrzeniu).

When a radial stops leaking that means its out of oil

Perfectly normal for a radial that has sat for more than a few days. The oil that seeps past the rings in the lower cylinders collects and can can cause a hydraulic lock which can bend connecting rods and worse if not purged. You remove the spark plugs from the lower cylinders and turn the engine over until the oil stops draining. This is why you see them hand turning the prop before start to assure there’s no lockup. It’s also why you see smoke when the engine first starts, there’s always a bit of oil that gets blown into the exhaust manifold but it quickly burns off. You only worry if you start a radial and don’t see smoke. That means the engine is dry, not at all good.

More like a bi-wing Otter considering it’s size. Would make a wonderful backwoods hauler in Alaska and the Yukon. One of Oleg Antonov’s finest design, superbly rugged and versatile with simple systems and a reliable engine.
