I was there. A lot of people had already started going towards their cars at the encore break, and even more started moving once Ants started. Imagine being one of those people halfway to the gate and hearing Halloween start. Personally, I was a tad disappointed to hear Ants for the 1000th time. But I accepted my fate and thought, "I can deal with it." It was a good fake. You got me good. Well played, DMB.

I've only been to 8-9 DMB shows and I knew my odds of hearing Halloween were slim to none. It's my favorite DMB song. I figured Halloween would most likely be off the table due to it being DMB's third show in 3 days. When they closed with Ants I didn't think much of it. When they switched over to Halloween it was instant goosebumps. For that one split second earlier in the week where I had to make a decision if I wanted to make another 14 hour round trip back to Alpine or make the more mature rational decision and refund my ticket and stay back with work. I'm glad I don't make good decisions. I couldn't even imagine what I would have done if I stayed back and found out they closed with Halloween. What an insane night it was! I have to admit, I've rewatched the transition from Ants into Halloween like 10 times now 😂 I get chills every time! I was lucky enough to be in attendance in Charlottesville at the band's 25th anniversary celebration concert where they brought back The Last Stop after an extended hiatus... to say I lost my mind would be an understatement 😂 so that was awesome, obviously.... but I'd give anything to get Halloween live!!
