Watch in HD!!! This is a drum cover for 'Dim', by the band Skyharbor.
Back in early 2019, I had the privilege and opportunity to fill in for Skyharbor when they played in Australia and Mexico, which were two countries I had never been to until then. It was not only great traveling to new places around the world, but I was also able to play with the band again, and it felt absolutely amazing. This is one of the songs I had to learn for those shows. I'm not officially in the band or anything, and I don't know what their future plans are. Regardless, I do hope to share the stage with them again in the future because I really do have a lot of love for everyone in that band.
I'm using the new Classics Custom Dual line from Meinl Cymbals. These cymbals are incredible, and I was pleasantly surprised with how they sounded under the microscope. Being part of the CC line, they're projection and durability is insane. I've posted the full list of cymbals that I'm using below. I've already used them in a bit of session work, and I've received nothing but positive feedback from the artists/clients with how they sound. A few of these could most likely make it into my normal setup, but I'm still experimenting with them. Again, full list of what I'm using in this video is below.

@@MartinBellamyMBDrums I think I'll end up using the 12" splash, 15" hats, and the 18" crash. I might also use the china regularly as well. I love my normal setup, but it's great to have some new alternatives as well.

For a long time I have been trying to identify what I love about your style so much Anup- besides the personality you allow to get into your videos... I've finally identified it. When we judge rock and metal drums, we typically are looking at technical difficulty, uniqueness, and musicality. I think you, Anup, have another dimension that most don't even touch... you're organic. There's a swing (not in the traditional meter sense) and flow that envelopes your grooves. It makes them seem intuitive and smooth. They feel real instead of robotic. It translates the emotional content of the performance better than others can. Couple that with the pace and force with which your strokes fall... these qualities for lack of better terms are what make you one of my all-time favorites. Keep it up.
