Prenatal/Antenatal/Perinatal depression can affect between 10-20 percent of women during pregnancy. It's something I didn't know could happen and wasn't really aware of. In this video, I open up and share about my experience during this pregnancy and the struggles I've faced in the past when it comes to anxiety and depression. This was definitely tough to film and even harder to have the courage to post. I made this video to let any other pregnant mamas out there know that they aren't alone. I think it's important to share about ALL parts of pregnancy, not only the good parts, but the hard parts too.
Taking care of your mental health is so incredibly important during pregnancy and postpartum. If you are experiencing any symptoms of anxiety or depression during your pregnancy, please reach out to someone, especially a healthcare provider (midwife or OB/GYN).
