Disney and Pixar's #InsideOut2 is coming to theaters June 2024 with brand new emotions!
The little voices inside Riley’s head know her inside and out-but next summer, everything changes when Disney and Pixar’s “Inside Out 2” introduces a new Emotion: Anxiety. According to director Kelsey Mann, the new character promises to stir things up within headquarters. “Anxiety, voiced by Maya Hawke, might be new to the crew, but she’s not really the type to take a back seat,” said Mann. “That makes a lot of sense if you think about it in terms of what goes on inside all our minds.” A trailer, poster and film stills are now available for what promises to be the feel-good (or feel-everything) film of Summer 2024.
Disney and Pixar’s “Inside Out 2” returns to the mind of newly minted teenager Riley just as headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions! Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, who’ve long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren’t sure how to feel when Anxiety shows up. And it looks like she’s not alone. Maya Hawke lends her voice to Anxiety, alongside Amy Poehler as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Lewis Black as Anger, Tony Hale as Fear, and Liza Lapira as Disgust. Directed by Kelsey Mann and produced by Mark Nielsen, “Inside Out 2” releases only in theaters Summer 2024.

But in doing so, she pushes away everyone else who could help her, because she has this deep need to be seen. Emotionally devastating 😥

Anxiety can be a hypocrite sometimes as when first arrives in HQ alongside Embarrassment, Envy, Nostalgia and Ennui, she asked Riley’s old emotions if she could walk their dog despite the fact that Riley’s emotions don’t own any pets like cats or dogs in HQ even though they do surprisingly live in Riley’s mind as while Bing Bong was dumping memories and stuff out of his bottomless bag in the first movie, a gray tabby cat mysteriously comes out as well and runs away in fright.

That is how I see Anxiety. I do not think any emotions are good or bad, they are who they are and have the role to play. Anxiety is a good depiction of our minds. What I see in Riley is that Riley chose to suppress her main emotions because she sees teenage life getting more complex.

Sometimes I really don't blame anxiety! But sometimes being anxious can make you very sick! But luckily I have my father to console me from the anxieties! But sometimes the cure is just letting out your anxieties by crying especially when I was crying for my mom ever since she died last year! And sometimes I wanted to be free and fulfilled especially if I wanted to become a director of cartoon animation! But just for now I am only a cartoonist! Which is why I believe that one of my favorite emotions is mostly hope even if there is no hope in Riley's mind perhaps she would appear in the third movie of inside out! And I believe that her color would perhaps be sunglow yellow! Just like in The Simpsons yellow is a perfect color for laughter!😊

This movie was so much more relatable to me as someone with an anxiety disorder. Even though I have overcome the worst of it, I still sometimes imagine something like this happening to me when I make irrational decisions motivated by anxiety.

I feel though, all of the new emotions may not have bad intentions but are thinking they could probably do a better job. Hence why Embarrassment poked holes in the bottle and Anxiety was trying to be all kind to them still when trapped in the bottle.
