Can someone help me out and tell me what is the lead instrument throughout the verses? I thought maybe a xylophone or vibraphone at first…but I can’t tell. It seems to be the “lead” instrument in the first half of the verses before the flute or recorder comes in and takes over.

When I learnt this song in a religious play group, I wanted to be Joseph in the school play. Before religious trauma reminded me women belong in the kitchen and little girls should be seen and not heard 😂😢 (Just my experience, I'm not trying to say all religion is traumatisingly sexist)
