Perfectly fair comments, based on my experience so far with the mini3. Really small and easy to carry; great image quality; easy to fly; hard to wreck (thanks to collision avoidance); decent battery life; and the remote control is outstanding.

I upgraded from my mavic pro for an air 2s, i was between the mini 3pro and the 2s. And wind was a major factor, i use the drone mainly to heard cattle and having a drone that can handle windy days was a must. Cheers from Uruguay

I played around with sub $100 drones a few times and they were always a huge pain to fly. So I went a bit of a step up and got a DJI Mini2. Man, what a difference even that makes, it can actually hover in place and be controllable. So I'm happy with that and its about all I need to do semi-occasional flying for fun at the park or beach.

Also, the mini 3 does not require a pilot licence or registration of the drone in many countries as long as you use the standard battery and stay under 249 gr flight weight. Big feature !

Hey Terry, that was a very fair review on the mini 3 pro, what I would say though is that although the drone moves around a fair bit in strongish winds, the picture is extremely stable that it is imperceptible when watching footage back. So even though it moves a lot, it provides better image stability than many drones double its price from what I've seen. Oh and by the way, I live in Scotland, we get a lot of wind lol.

Seems expensive when compared to the other minis but does have more packed into it. As far as comparison to larger drones it reminds me of my days with photography. Cameras which used larger format film gave much better image quality, but the size, weight, and expense of the system made them undesirable after a while.

Good News for you Terry. You can now use the controller with the AIR2S as well. I bought my controller RC just for the AIR2S. Its working fine and much better than my smartphone, where I always had to hide in the shadow. I would love if they would also allow my Mavic2 Pro and the Mini 2 to connect to this controller....

The idea of "feels cheap" always makes me crazy, back like 3 careers ago I was an engineer, I've forgotten more about this stuff than most people will ever know and yeah, if you're looking for light materials - and lets be clear they're needed here - they might subjectively "feel" cheap but that doesn't mean they are and it might not be possible to do better without doubling the price. The wind stuff could be at least partially resolvable in software, given it is software that controls the stability in flight which is something people forget - as long as the controller cpu is fast enough and the gyro is sensitive enough and the props are reactive enough you can do a lot - there's a limit because yeah the size and lightness thing (seems like longer arms might have helped) but there are things you can do. I own an Air 2 (not S) and I don't fly it much because of the laws in my country and it being hard to find somewhere it's legal to fly around me - the official _statistics_ of the m3p make it remarkably compelling to me to do the thing you said at the start of the video, I can't even really take my A2 out of it's case very often so being able to fly at all more often is quite a big deal. I bought the Mini 3 Pro when it came out in may in my home country Ireland and don't regret a single penny😀 Yes it had teething problems, Yes it was sort of half finished but hey it was well worth the trouble. I have been flying it a good bit now and now I've relegated my heavier 470g Mavic Air 2 to a dusty corner!🙂

My first drone was mini 3 pro. I love the drone but be careful in the wind. Mine caught a good gust of wind and ended up on top of an apartment building. The owners wouldn’t let me go up and get it. Was planning to order the air2s anyways, so I ordered it, attached a string to it with a wire hanger hook and fished my mini3pro, with the air2s. Now I have both. Haven’t been able to fly the air2s much, but I noticed immediately that the image quality was much better. Was going to sell the mini3pro once I got it back, but now I think I’m keeping both

I don’t have the Mini 3 yet but I have the Mini 2 and I have the Mavic Air and what I really love about the mini 2 that wasn’t mentioned in this video is the much lower noise level. I use it as a travel drone and the compact size and low noise when flying it in somewhat public areas makes such a huge difference. You can barely hear it from 50 ft away and according to DJI mini 3 is supposed to be even quieter which is amazing if true.

Great video! I just tested both today out on the beach in Chicago and, although the mini 3 pro is small and light, it handled the wind like a G. We are talking about speeds up to 14kts with gusts up to 16kts. I was impressed. Again, great video.

Upgraded from Air 2 and expected it to be the same in wind as some youtubers said. As it hovered stable a gust of wind blew it into a pole and crashed. Need a new gimbal now. Thinking of getting the air 2s as where I live is pretty windy

After 2 days of fiddling with the phone connecting to the standard controller, getting calls and texts while flying, I bit the bullet and ponied up the cash for the DJI RC. I was trying to save a few bucks, but this controller is a game-changer.

I recently got mine, for a birthday. I love it. so easy to use, great quality of images. there are many great drones out there. one must start with something.. and this one has loads of features and is very small. I got the extra kit, 2 more batteries, charger, and I got a hard case. I already have a private pilot license so I'm going to get my drone license also. DJI has a great record for quality and innovation... after some time I will get into a larger drone perhaps.. I do real estate, am an agent.

I just bought the Air 2s and I can't say enough good things about it. Plenty of bang for your buck, but,,,,, I'm getting really interested in the Mini 3 pro, not only because of all the features it has, even over the mini-2, but nice and less conspicuous it is because of the small size. I'm glad you did most of your comparison with the mini 3 Pro vs the Air 2s for obvious reasons. By the way, you did a fine job on your comparison here. Keep up the good work. Marc T.

Only problem I had from this drone was that the lense was fogging up on the inside due to moisture on the inside. I took it apart and uses a dehumidifier to dry it. Other than that it's been great to far

Good thorough video, Terry! I started with (and still have) a Mini 2, which for the money is still a fantastic drone. It does lack some features, sure, but as a starter drone it really holds up, and of course the size/weight factors are huge. I added an Air 2S to the mix, and honestly was a bit let down. I loved the robust build, and the performance and image quality were great. But it had some things I didn't like (like the flat strip charger, hated that thing), and it wasn't nearly as inconspicuous in flight as the Mini 2. So I sold the A2S, and jumped at the Mini 3 Pro for the new stuff: new remote, better sensor, upward/vertical gimbal, obstacle avoidance, active track. Loving it so far, and no regrets. I have seen the effects of wind, and I'm hoping the heavier batteries (once I can finally get my hands on the Fly More Plus) will help that a little. Still, really enjoying the M3P so far, and looking forward to what else DJI might bring to it in future updates.

I'm new to drones, and after a bit of research, about 2 months ago I purchased my 1st one which was a different brand, and a little less money than the Mini Pro 3. And, it also has very promising features. By the way, what's most important to me for the projects I'm going to be using it for, is Waypoints. Yet, for whatever reason, it seems that Waypoints is a subject that's glazed over by most drone companies, and drone reviewers (maybe I'm overlooking them). In any event, I put the original drone through its paces, and ultimately ended up returning it. Then, after more research, yesterday I ordered the Mini Pro 3 which will arrive tomorrow. Your video then popped up today. After viewing it, it helps validate for me that I think I made the right choice this time. I have a question, you mention the slower ascent and descent of the Mini Pro 3. Would the Hyperlapse feature be a way to overcome this limitation (visually)? Also, is it possible to create an entire Waypoints "mission" (I think they're called) using DJI software on a laptop, including map location (GPS), altitude, speed, camera orientation, and time, and then upload that mission to a drone to carry out? Thx!

Also depends on country restrictions, in uk, you can fly mini almost everywhere and close to people, but not air 2 s, there’s a lot of rules.

Hi Terry, Great video. I love the fact that the fly more combo is separate again. Originally, the fly more combo was separate. It annoys me personally that I couldn't buy it separately for the air 2s for example. So if you could only afford a basic kit, you would have to buy a whole new drone to get the fly more combo.

I use drones mainly for photography - the mini 1 had noise in the sky even at 100iso due to the tiny sensor. Sensor size is still small on the mini 3 so sticking to my Air2s

Is it possible to make any DJI drone REMOTELY activate/energize a switch/relay/solenoid/etc.???

Here in the UK it's a pain to have a +250g drone and even after getting a certificate it's still highly limited. Nice overview of your experiences 👍. I had the connection issues with mine, until the latest RC firmware update, which seems to have solved it for me (I use the standard RC-N1 controller). So the only issue left for mine is the overheating. When it's hot out, just has to be moving at a decent speed to avoid the issue, which sometimes means not getting the shot you want. Otherwise super impressed.

I’m looking for a backup drone but I’m not sure which one to choose. I currently use the Mavic 3 but I need something I can feel more comfortable to push and use kinda as a daily driver.
