To perform at events I would use the m***** deck version but I don’t currently use a m***** deck. Although I really like Boris Wilds old marking system. For one off performances in controlled situations I’d use the gaff cards.

The method is quite different from Strange Travellers. In my opinion ATOCTP is better and more magical.

Correct. They can spread pretty fairly but there is a possibility of exposure if they try to fan the cards out too widely. Unlikely but still possible.

I had a spectator separate the half to show the card, I really hate how this has to be managed. It does have the “Strange Traveller Feel” I also would only do this for people that I can completely manage. I don’t consider this a real worker (It’s just not for me)

They will spread it too far. Period. I've tried this several times and it happened each time. Lay people don't know how to spread cards properly. Plus, you need the spectator to think of specific cards. If it doesn't work 100% of the time, I can't use it. It went into the bin.

That’s a real shame. It’s a good effect but maybe stick with it and try a few more times when you’re confident your audience knows what to do. A great ungaffed version is taught as well though.

@@EverythingMagicPro99 The audience shouldn't "know what to do". They are spectators. Spectators do what they want, no matter how much "audience management" you do. You should NEVER hand. a gaffed deck of cards to a spectator. Ever. They will discover the gaff without trying to be jerks. I will never do this trick again. As for the non-gaffed method. I won't give away the method, but if the lighting isn't right, you're screwed.

It seems like Ellusionist are finally producing great magic again rather than terrible smoke machines and playing cards 🙌

@@EverythingMagicPro99 I believe Ellusionist is such a small company they don't get as many creators coming to them with ideas as Penguin magic or Alakazam does so it hurts their company as a whole.

Ten years ago Ellusionist was a powerhouse in publishing magic. For some time they seemed to lose their way. Maybe due to Daniel Madison and E shifting their focus to printing playing cards and beginner friendly magic instead of high quality magic for more serious magicians. Recently it seems they’ve shifted their focus back to publishing fantastic magic. E has never had an issue with contacts but it seems that they keep changing what they’re focusing on as a core business.
