Adrian, I'm a surf player who used to really battle to tremolo pick. I watched all the youtube vids I could find. Ultimately, I think that there's a huge feeling element to it, that makes videos of only limited value. But you've put together the best possible set of guidelines and exercises I've ever seen.

I suppose I'd be considered an "advanced" player, but my tremolo picking sucks. I'm holding onto these lessons to get me ready for Miserlou. You do a stellar job on everything, man. Thank you.

Nicely put together, for something that for all intents and purposes is compiled solely from chord structure it is really melodic, which inturn makes it enjoyable to play. "Adrian hangs 10" Cheers, brilliant

Thanks Julian. Yes, it's really just an exercise but glad you found it reasonably musical and fun to play.

What song would you choose? Some of their songs are pretty easy, but it's all about putting the two guitars together.

Great lesson Adrian... This style always sounds impressive to me ( think the late lamented Dick Dale) .. Like most older styles, it takes more practice that you'd think to get it sounding right and the reverb is oh so important to get that 'surf' vibe.

I think it would be a great idea for you to do a lesson on a Stooges song from their Debut alum, such as "Not Right" "Little Doll" or "Real Cool Time". Ron Asheton's solos in those songs are some of the Rawest and emotional playing i've ever heard. Easily the hardest guitarist to mimic note for note in my opinion, and I would love to see your detailed interpretation of one of his solos particularly on their debut album. Thanks!

Hi, Adrian. I just gotta say, your instructional approach reflects such generosity of spirit - so thank you for being so kind and helpful. Do you think string gauge or scale length has much effect on playability or efficiency of using tremolo picking? What brings me to this lesson is in trying to learn the "going crazy" part of Rumble you describe in your instructional from 2016. In the current videos you make no mention of tremolo picking as Link Ray performs it, on three strings at once. Please, help! Thanks so much.

Thanks Danny. The Tele is still out of action. I think - hope! - it's just a loose connection in jack socket. Need to get soldering soon.

It would be useful showing better how to keep the pick and how is the exact movement of the wrist. Does the forearm helps (moving as a pendulum) the hand's undulation to "push" the pick harder when the wrist is weak ? (I do this, using as a fulcrum the point where the forearm rests on the top of the guitar's body, but the result is not good...)

Hi Adrian, love the lesson and love the channel!! I have just been noticing that when I build up speed and in particular when I do the 16th note bursts that my right hand action tends to come from my forearm rather than my wrist. Is this a bad habit to pick up or is it a natural progression to play more from the forearm at higher speed. Any advice would be appreciated!! Thanks again for all the videos you put up👍
