Aortic Valve Replacement - Admission and Pre Op

History: As per details on my previous videos, I was diagnosed with severe aortic regurgitation due to an insufficient Aortic valve. It was decided to replace my valve with a mechanical valve (St Jude Mechanical). The operation took place on 18th February 2020 at the Royal Brompton in UK.

My husband was born with Aortic valve stenosis. He had his first surgery at 19 when they put a cadaver valve in. That lasted him 12 years. Now, in 2 days he's having a mechanical valve put in. Thank you for making these videos. I'm nervous so hearing from another young person thats been through the surgery brings some comfort.

Do you have supravalvular aortic stenosis?

I had sub valvular stenosis which was removed when I was 9. No real understanding of why it developed, but luckily never returned.
