Do you think I should take Ap Chem next year? My school has a linked program where we take chemistry honors the first semester and then ap chemistry second semester

I am scared for next year because I am going into my sophomore year and ik my classes are going to be a lot of work. My current schedule for next year is Pre-calc Hon, AP Word History, AP Bio, Ap Lang, Biotech 1 Hon, Anatomy and Physiology Hon, Band, AP Comp Science A, and AP Art History. Btw two of AP classes are online and I'll also be taking dual enrollment classes at the college as well. I'm not sure if I should drop one of my AP classes because I have a lot of extracurriculars and idk if I will have time to study and do hw for these classes.

Is AP Chem really that hard? I am trying to take it next year as a Junior and I have no chemistry knowledge so far.

Yes, in my opinion, AP Chemistry is one of the hardest AP classes by far.

I did take chemistry before AP Chemistry, and as someone who is currently looking to go into the medical field, I found AP Chem to be really interesting! It was difficult nevertheless; however, after self-studying and putting in the work I managed to get a 5 on the test!

I took honors chem last year and AP chem this year (junior year). We had block scheduling and I had it second semester (which was shorter) so we did a year’s worth of curriculum in 4 months. It was way too fast but I heavily relied on my chem knowledge from last year to help me. If your teacher is good, it could be fine. I would recommend watching basic chem vids on KZfaq this summer. Learn basic stuff: significant figures, dimensional analysis, mole conversions, get familiar with most elements/how to use the periodic table, and memorize common ions/strong and weak bases :)

I might have an advantage for chemistry classes because at my old school (I'm freshman btw) I had a class called Physical Science, and the first semester was that we had a chemistry unit so the first semester was all chemistry. Now the teacher was really awful which made the class hard but I got an A in it still before I transferred. But i did learn quite a few things so next year (at my new school) i will take Honors Chemistry and I feel it won't be too bad because of my prior knowledge. So I think in the long run, I will have a very good understanding of chemistry so maybe AP Chem won't be the worst thing in the world if I have a good teacher

@@zzztriplezzz5264 im not saying he shouldnt, ive done 3 so far and im in sophomore year, but truth be told you dont need to take any AP classes. Of course its better to take more but dont force him, if he doesnt want to he doesnt have to take them.
