What is the expected outcome if this guy ends up spending years in prison? I can't imagine anyone going out of their way to help someone else if they know, that if the outcome goes badly, they are the ones that will be held 100% responsible while the criminal is treated like a saint.

He held him in a choke hold for long after any threat he might have posed had passed. NY law says that in order to respond to a perceived threat with deadly force (as was used in this case) that there are certain conditions that must be met and this situation did not justify the use of deadly force. A reasonable person could foresee that choking someone unconscious and holding them that way for several minutes has a significant chance of resulting in death.

NYC’s economy generally relies on professionals, not blue-collar work. Mostly the UN, embassies, Wall Street, and universities. Most of the vets have police/security jobs.

MSG) You’d be surprised at how many American citizens, INCLUDING PROFESSIONALS are prior military. Daniel Penny served an honorable 4 years in the Marine Corps, got an honorable discharge as a Sgt. I can look his record up because I am currently an active duty Marine.

I hope this monster goes to jail for the rest of his life.
