AmnScottNN He's right, Christmas was actually not started by Christians but by Latin Romans. It was a period called as "Saturnals", celebrating the God Saturn. Also the Christian Religion took 90% of its base from already existing religions, like little pieces from every religion and formed this great religion we today know as Christianity.

I was stationed in South Korea from Jan 1994 to Jan 1995. I remember this event. Mission was a reconnaissance flight . The pilot got off course. North Korea shot them down without warning. The co pilot was killed the pilot taken prisoner for a month. Situation was tense. The North Koreans rummaged the shot up helicopter. The bag the pilot was carrying was a personal hygiene bag that is given to POWs. We were on alert and deployed to our staging areas to move if more hostilities were imminent. Only the ignorant here talk without being there 27 years ago

I find it strange that the pilot goes off course, what sort of guidance system did the chopper have? How could it be possible for that to happen? Did N.K. have some tech that caused the navigation system on the chopper to go awry on purpose? Makes me wonder.

I flew Huey's in South Korea for Med Evac 121st Evac Hosp. We made flights to the DMZ and it can be a challenge in bad weather. We had beacons to guide us but North Korean infiltrators would move or destroy them sometimes. On night flights it could get scary at times. I was there from 1974 to 76.

As an infantryman serving in the 2nd Infantry division, I was ordered to board some helicopters (Note: never the same one, very suspicious) and unwittingly be conveyed about by a pair of gentleman and sometimes ladies. They would often wear night vision goggles which would prompt the crew to frequently swear and say things like "can't see shit" and "where the hell is that becon??" and "oh my God! can you smell the paddies on these dudes!?" Seriously though. Good job not plowing us into those mountains or dropping us in Pyongyang guys. I appreciated your work ethic.

He also said the North Koreans gave him lots of apples to eat.

Hey, the title is incorrect. It should be North Korea, not South Korea.

I would not of stopped. I would not give them he satisfaction of thinking they control me. Also that’s not a gift bag. Anyone that be to jail knows that’s all the shit he had on him when he got released.

On 1976 maybe 77. I was on ambush one night on the DMZ, When i got a frantic call on my prc saying " abort mission return to your GP Immediately!" A helicopter was shot down. The only survivor was the pilot. Rumor has it the NCO on board put up a good fight.
