You did another good job showing us the life in Vietnam. 🏡 Another thing to consider about your commute is the safety of travel. The more miles to travel the more potential for traffic jams or accidents. Sometimes even the closer distance might have more traffic and take you just as long as somewhere that's for farther away. 🤔 but it sounds like you made a good decision renewing your contract where you are presently located. 🌞 Natural sunlight is good for your health!

Many apartments in Hanoi are old, damp, dirty, dusty, noisy. NEVER pay more than USD 330 for a 1 bedroom fully furnished apartment: Hoan Kiem, Ba Dinh central areas

I share the same sentiment with you about windows. Here in Nigeria, I'd never take a house with one window. I'll be uncomfortable every day of my life. I like houses with windows. It's about air for me though. I enjoyed watching this.
