Or better yet people needs to at least break them in half so it can fit the dumpster without any issues just like when I used to work for Walmart I was a maintenance associates and somebody overnights end up putting a whole size pallet into the compactor and of course it breaks the compactor again.

@hopperhustle
@hopperhustle 2 жыл бұрын
Definitely give WM a try ! As far as the manual labor, it really depends on your route. If you’re in a downtown area you could be looking at a lot of pull-out cans. That’s just kind of part of it. You’ll have to see what they have available. Recycle routes are a lot lighter to work with even if you have pull-out cans to deal with.

I own a junk removal company and am looking at expanding into weekly dumpster pick ups. Is the front load truck a standard 40 yard truck? Also how many dumpsters can you usually fit before you have to head for the dump? How many dumpsters do you empty in 1 shift?

the math to me just doesnt seem like it should be 200 compacted yds but i seem to remember it as it will compact 5 to 1 but it may have been 7 to 1 but 25-35 full cans i think it is the right answer but you have to watch your weight limit also if you are adding rainwater or sweeper debris to a normally full trash route

That’s why front loaders come with a windshield guard we always had them on the front of the cab . You should ask your supervisor why the the truck comes with out windshield guard? So if a windshield gets broken cracked where’s the windshield guard.

Cool to watch. I am retired, but am looking to get my DCL licence. I was told it is better to get a Class A because a Class B is limiting. Is it worth taking a course at a driving school first? Also, are these trucks manual or automatic shift? I heard just about everything is going automatic now.
@hopperhustle
@hopperhustle 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks ! If you’re interested in getting your CDL, go on Indeed and do some research on local truck companies near you. Some offer training to get your Class A or B, you usually just have to agree to work there for a year after getting your license to foot the bill. All our trucks are automatic, front loads and roll-off. It’s a good mixture between manual and autos in refuse, usually depends on the age of the equipment but most places are switching to automatic. Hope this helps !

Odd question but what's your hoppers capacity yardage wise? And when your empty how many pickups can you do before your truck is full?
@hopperhustle
@hopperhustle Жыл бұрын
20 cubic yard capacity. Packing out from empty varies based on volume, type of trash, and container size. Food packs easier with more weight while apartments have more volume with lighter trash. I have been running a help route recently where I pack out my first load on Mondays with 3 apartment complexes. Two have all 8yds with about 25 total together and the third is all 4yds with 17 total. Another route I ran is almost all restaurants, with various size cans, and I’ve gotta the whole second load on with over 50 cans and 15 tons on that load. It just depends on what you’re picking up. Rain also adds to the weight while cold makes trash lighter and harder to pack. Hope this helps, thanks for watching 👍

203 is a 2019 ACX - that instrument cluster was changed that year. Very cool to have an LCD display and it makes it easy to troubleshoot codes that it throws out right from that menu. As much as I loved that Mack MR I started with I’ve really gotten to love these Autocars. Mine has the L9 Cummins, just a monster. 1st of the month for sure man ! Congratulations on finishing school ! My advice to anyone that is new to front load, or any professional driver position - be safe. Keep your head on a swivel and take your time. Don’t get in a rush and if you get frustrated, take 5 and roll on. Any mistake I’ve made doing this job has been because I let myself get in a hurry or I got worked up. When you make a mistake, just take something from it. You’ll learn something new everyday ! Speed will also come with time so just take it one can at a time. Good luck to you and thanks for the comment !

@hopperhustle
@hopperhustle Жыл бұрын
As far as garbage trucks are concerned, I don’t see it being fully automated in my lifetime. Especially on the commercial side. Too many variables and situations for an automated truck to handle IMO. We’ve made incredible advancements in technology over small periods of time but they still haven’t gotten automated driving figured out right for everyday commute drivers.
