The base of my agitator won't spin like yours wonder of my issue is more than a motor coupler

My top load whirlpool 20 year old washer doesn't seem to extract as much water as it used to. I replaced the motor to tranny coupling which was broken and measured the spin RPM at ~500 rpm.

0:30 you can see the motor coupler is cracked and is fairly easy to replace and it’s a $5 part

How did you get the backing off the old coupler? I disassembled my washer. The coupler looked good, but since I bought the part thinking that it was the problem, I wanted to change it. The white part that's flush to the motor won't come out. Help?

Non of the teeth are broken could it be the black ring causing it not to spin?

I fixed that part and my washer is spinning again but the cast iron on the bottom of the tub seems to be running really hot. Is it possible there’s a bearing on it broken? Or does it need time to work in the new piece.

i have the same washing machine but yhe problem is when you adjust ti the normal position the spiner cant run fast but if the setting is on the spiner its running

Im wandering whats wrong with mine. It fills up but also drains water at the same time? Not sure if thats supposed to be happening.. Then when it tries to do the spin cycle it makes a click then a VRRRRR....click...VRRRRR over and over then ends the cycle and says its done washing. Doesnt spin at all Im nervous to take it apart cause my basment is like an old flooded castle torture chamber. Sigh.

Is this pretty much the cause for any washer that doesn't spin out but drains? Tenants are complaining about a washer in our laundry room doing this and the appliance repair company we used to use went out of business. Appliances arent really my specialty so it seems easy enough if this is the most common issue..

Since this is the first video that popped up and you're very active with the comments. I just had my washing machine stop spinning on the top part but not the bottle. My mind says the opposite side of that you fixed is my problem. Would i be wrong? Is it possible what there is a second side that controls the top part?

My old whirlpool doesn’t spin. It’s direct drive, the motor comes out with the center shaft that the agitator is attached to. It’s so old it doesn’t have a lid lock. I changed the clutch, but it still won’t spin. I don’t know what could be wrong.

I was hoping to see the belt. I didn't hear noise, just not spinning. The belt is loose but I don't see where it connects to anything. My washer looks like this one. It's hard to find videos with the same washer, there's so many models and mine is older
