Scourge entrance coming out of the trees was cold🥶🥶

Scourge is menacing as hell in this and that theme is just scary

Given the emblems Scourge has, it looks like he's faced down every single faction in the Transformers franchise. Maximal, Predacon, Autobot, Decepticon, he's got them all 😨

“So you’re this planets great warrior” That line would have me ready for a challenge. Scourge is a beast. Him and Lockdown are my favorite villains

The fact that optimus primal got startled by airazor's fire breath just puts a smile on my face

I love Unacron in this movie. We don't see much of him but what we do see makes him feel like a real threat.

The way Optimus Prime easily beat Scourge with his sword makes me think Apelinq could've easily dispatched of Scourge with a few swipes of those blades on his arms. But his animal instincts (jumping around, etc.) cost him dearly. Optimus Prime was clearly more battle-savvy.

Honestly, i can see why some people have critics about the film's CGI in comparison to the other previous installments in this franchise, but in certain scenes (like this one), the CGI and overall aesthetics are damn near phenomenal and definitely one of the best use of VFX of this year. (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 also had really good CGI)

Men, that scourge opening scene was totally freakin nostalgia.

Colman Domingo as Unicron is so perfect. Shame we didnt get to hear more from him.

I like how in the movie, just as in the cartoon, Optimus starts out as this younger, less experienced leader. The visuals help sell that idea as Apelinq's silver armor and hair make him look older than Primal's black coat and armor.

It must have not been easy for Apelinq to sacrifice himself so that way his fellow Maximals can live & escape. Dying must have been terrible for Apelinq. But like he said "We rather die then let him reach other Planets" It's better to go down like a Hero then to die in Vein.

R.I.P., Apelinq. Died with honour like a true warrior. Btw, isn't it just *_ABUNDANTLY_* clear right from this intro who they really care about giving screen time? There's Primal and Airazor taking out the Scorponoks out with bada## intros, and then there's Rhinox and Cheetor... just... running in. 😂

Biggest gripe with this film is the use of the maximals, given the movie title I expected them to be used more usefully. They transform only once at the end even after the battle right back in beast form.

3:42 Unicron looks just like how he looks in the classics

i might have only just noticed but Optimus Primal has a similar roar to Kong in GvK at 0:14 and i find it really interesting considering the fact they are both ape-like creatures. however in contrast, Primal is an experienced fighter with weapons and abilities that allow him to gain more power such as maximising, whilst Kong is just an oversized monkey that is smart, powerful with weapons and has the ability and confidence to fight Godzilla and actually put up a fight (for pretty much only the first quarter or half of the hong kong scene) . but besides from that i like seeing how Primal and Kong could have a potential relationship due to their species being under the primate section and having similar roars, however it is very very unlikely anybody else could relate the two since i am one of the only people who loves these types of movies.

In my opinion, I think that Scourge, BattleTrap, Nightbird and Unicron could have beat all of the Maximals, Predecons, Desepticons and the Autobots in… “One Unicron Eating Planet Later” Btw I loved TF: ROTB, 100/10, and I also loved Scourge as a character, toys and art designs. 👍👍👍👍👍

If there was a Giganotosaurus dinobot named 'Thunderback', he would’ve been the Apelinq of the Dinobots, and he was the leader of the Dinobots before Grimlock. And if the Maximals and Dinobots were in ROTF, they swore an oath to the Primes to protect the Matrix from the Fallen.

This was by far the shortest fight in transformers history

i don't much about Transformers, but if I recall, Unicron has a brother the T-formers' home planet. If Unicron is out there devouring planets, why hasn't his brother "activated" to stop him?

I love the way Apelinq lowered his head and took a deep breath when he was prepping for his fight He knew he was gonna die, he knew Scourge was gonna kill him And he knew that all he could do, was mentally prepare himself for the end

That Scourge entrance from the dark forest is one of the few moments in the whole franchise where a transformer actually feels scary.

0:07 0:14 makes me laugh the mechanical roar of optimus primal

1:10 It's almost like seeing Kong and his father from the Monsterverse if Kong's dad was alive at the time.

Being the leader doesn't necessarily mean being the best fighter.

As much as this opening is briefly enough to show the context, villains, and maximals, there are still things I find lacking about this scene: 1. Apelinq being outlived in like 2 seconds after Scourge's 30 seconds entrance monologue when he's supposed to be holding on for like 30 minutes of fighting summarized in 3 minutes. At least give them some more dialogue like Apelinq trying to taunt Scourge even before Scourge blasts his shoulder 2. The maximals galloping towards the escape ship when they're literally miles away and have actually boarded the ship by the time the camera pan from Scourge to the launch tower. You can say that the Maximals have an advance underground transport to get to the launch tower quicker but the movie just doesn't tell 3. There's not enough Maximals to explain what Optimus Primal later in the movie refers to "the others", so as far as the movie presented us basically Primal, Cheetor, and Rhinox left Airazor all on her own with the unseen "others" 4. Since this movie did a good job of not giving Rhinox a chance to speak (they barely could give Cheetor as well), they might as well showed more Maximals as soldier-bots (like the vehicons and the autobot non-character soldiers presented in Bumblebee) without voice lines to intercept Scourge or help Apelinq which then showcase how Scourge could solo a whole gang of Maximals without getting a scratch 5. With all those points considered, this opening sequence could also be a chance to show Nightbird and Battletrap's involvement in this raid like them chasing the rest of the runaway Maximals to the launch tower, given the fact that this scene is the last time they saw the Maximals before the centuries time gap (if the term Transwarping in this universe means that they only travel between galaxies and universes instead of literal time) and Nightbird's reaction and lines when she sees the Maximals again in the museum fight and Peru village scene especially the "Miss me" line to Primal like maybe she was the one who gave him that scar on his right eye. Plus Battletrap could've got more screen time to show why he's named "Battletrap" in that whole chase, even so that his pet dog could've been shown here instead of in the toys, then maybe it dies in this scene that's why we don't see it anymore in the rest of the movie 6. The movie has yet to show nor tell us how the Maximals are more advance than the Cybertronians 7. Optimus vs Transit fight scene could still fit in after the title card by removing his opening monologue even after this opening sequence. It at least could've given us a heads up that Optimus is going to be the mainly focused Autobot in this movie
