Did you know? Because most Apex players don't actually know what mildots are. They are the dots that show up when you aim in on sniper scopes. They actually mean something and aren't just there for aesthetic purposes.

Been playing for 4years never noticed the horizontal dots. Actually cool. But i doubt this is very useful unless your target is standing still, because it takes time to setup a shot

Vantage does all this automatically for you. When you play her and zoom in on a snipers scope, notice she'll have a dot already marked on the lines for you to line up and hit your target. Vantage isn't played much but she is low-key kinda nice, with all her passive abilities. I think she would be a pretty nice ranked legend for a certain play style. Not necessarily for mine 😅 but for someone's play style lol

They are useful in almost every game, when firing, check where the first shot goes on the mil line and then use that mil line as the cross hair from then on.

also if you're playing as Vantage, part of her passive is sniper scopes show where to aim for a headshot for whatever enemy you're scoped in at.

In Apex mobile, there is a weekly event where it is only shotguns, only pistols, and only snipers that are being rotated. Shame the game dropped

I’ll definitely research it, but I figure most weapons are going to have similar bullet drop. Plus, while it’s useful with sniper scopes I’m not sure how useful the knowledge will be with the other scopes. I’ll give it a whirl in the range but I’m fairly confident most fights people won’t need to calculate distance

This was actually the most informative advice I’ve ever heard of when it comes to apex. I’ve just been estimating the distance with the bullet drop. This is going to get so much easier.

The left and right shot leading thing is cool, still hard to hit long range tho because of 3 dimensions and variable speeds but that definitely helps.

i knew mildots could be used to accomodate for bullet dropoff but i never really put together the fact that i could use the dots on the horizontal axis to hit moving targets.

@@leonardocastellanos7344 Apex is my only shooting battle royale game just because has some similarities to Warframe (movement wise) And only my 2nd PvP game. (I play only 2 online PvP games the other one is MasterDuel Yu-Gi-Oh). I avoid multiplayer PvP games like the plague. I mostly play singleplay or PvE games.

the horizontal ones are not very useful if your target is slower (walking) or faster (octane) than the average running speed

I dont play apex much anymore but I'm fully aware of mildot in scopes. The only issue is that they're hard to use fast pace so you're usually better off not using them completely.

Now all of this is good knowledge but there are a lot of variables for the leading part(sideways dots) like how fast the target is moving and which direction. What legend they are(for hitbox and knowledge of if they can move faster) if they are crouching or sprinting or sliding, etc.

keep in mind snipers aren't hitscan, therefore there is diffrent bullet arch depending on where how low or high u are from the target

It's pretty easy to snipe in Apex rather than PUBG, just get used to tracking enemies movement and bullet velocity

I’ve been using those dots since season 1. Hit a 874 meter shot after estimating 6, 7, 8 & 9 placements.

Honestly, i know about mildots and use them in other games when i can, but I honestly thought they were just cosmetic in apex because so many other games throw them in just for cosmetics instead of actually making them functional

My complaint when it comes to sniping in apex is there is no way to remove the idle sway even witg purple stocks. Sure, its a skill issue/learnint curve; but other games have it and sniping is just as difficult so I dont see why they cant simply add it in.

Just be glad most games don't involve a wind differential, because if they did, man, oh man, are you gonna have a bad time trying to get your shots in when a 20 mph wind speed is changing from left to right or fully left than out of no where. No winds. So, just be glad wind differential isn't in arcade shooters like apex, cod, and battlefield because those side mildots are for wind speed as well

You forgot to mention the horizontal mildots can be used for tracking a shot, as in if you fillow the target they can be used to track a moving target from far away so for 2x 1st mildot is below 200 metres 2nd is 300 down to 200 Practised my tracking in firing range using them for reference

This isn’t exclusive to apex this is present within most military grade marksman scopes, it helps to locate and optimize your shots with much better effectiveness, You don’t want to waste ammo after all. These scopes can be present with most games who choose to have at least some degree of realism within their games involving weaponry. I’m just pointing this out for anyone who’s curious.

i genuinely didn't believe they worked correctly when i started playing apex and i could have been right, i recently used them with a kraber and found it useful so perhaps some sights were broken though i remember consistently thinking they were off.

As an ex Battlefield player. Mildots are what make my friends confused as to how im so consistent with snipers. Also fun fact! The mildots are varied to each sniper. Thats why the old charge rifle didnt have mildots when you scoped in

I understand that. But when you have someone shooting at you and moving around, it doesn't really matter if you focus on that as you will be knocked off course, so just feel the force and shoot.

Me to brother. 1700 hours on Steam. Played since season 8. I saw the dots and didn't ever think about it. I also rarely used snipers. Those are quite skill based and my aim is always trash lol (not always, sometimes I'm cracked but I gotta be in the zone). I'm much better at movement, rotations, and strategy.

It it doesn't show the distance, just ping in the general direction of the enemy or the enemy itself if possible to see how far away they are

There's a range finder built into the sniper scopes, it's normally in a corner of the scope and tells you exactly how far the shot is

when leading your shot, you should follow the target, not wait for it to cross the line. keeping the line at the target will lead to more confirmed shots.
