most artists peak at some point or reach a time where they become considered past their prime. i dont even think that's a possibility with aphex. this guy just never stops learning and getting better, subtler. ive been eagerly awaiting bootlegs of this latest tour and to my total lack of surprise, i love what im hearing.

I think the thing is he just makes so much stuff that there's always something to please everyone. The guy really is a musical genius. There's always a lot of soul in what he does too...that helps

For real - the scales he adheres to (or doesn't) are so bizarre. He's built is own little city that he throws parades in. Nobody else knows how to get into the city, but he lets folks visit every 8 years or so.

Yes Richard, just keep doing you. I hate when artists claim they wanted to “evolve” when really they just ran out of material and tried another genre and suck. Aphex Twin has literally kept it real since day one and never succumbed to any one “path”. He does what he feels, not what his pocketbook required that year… which ironically is what people want more and will pay for

@@Brendan-Black lol. How do you know that wasn't microtonally intentional without the track being released yet? It was a dj set, just 2 laptops. If it's a 303, it's very unlikely to be software. That's like assuming Autechre live is out of tune and out of time, when the improvisation/preset morphing of the patch within their max msp system was intentional.

JEEEE MAN Is there a greatest artist than Aphex in all of Earth's history? I do not exaggerate when I ask this, I genuinely think he's on par with legends like Hendrix, Iron Maiden, Nine Inch Nails, Kate Bush, Mozart, Beethoven, Death Grips, Bach, Schubert and Tchaikovsky. Him and Blanck Mass are amazing.
