Every Time I Die's Keith Buckley and Andy Williams are called to the stage by Mark Hoppus to present the award for Best Guitarist at the APMAs.

these awards shouldn't be based on fan votes but based on a panel of 15 or 20 select judges that really know what they are talking about.

Wow. Best guitarist goes to the guy who doesn't even do the solos in the songs. Only redeeming part of this was seeing ETID present and accept the award haha.

I was there! I remember standing near the red carpet and seeing these dudes come out of their limo. It was awesome because I didn't know that they were coming! I'm from Buffalo and it was pretty sick seeing them there!

Any of those guys except the fir guy could destroy Phil, I like of mice and men but there has not been anything special guitar wise from them. Really listen to some riffs in a7x, August burns red, and the devil wears prada. You'll see what I mean by destroy. :)

Phil only one cause of looks - we all know this. I voted for JB Brubaker, and I would've had him or Syn Gates win. Those guys could play circles around Phil. No offence to Phil or anything, I'd just rather see the award go to people who have had more experience and have shown more progression in their musical abilities.

1. I don't even understand how Syn was even nominated. Popularity wise, he's on another level than other nominees. He's popular enough to be competing on another level (Recently, Syn was called a "Torchbearer" by Zakk Wylde, he has won many awards with his own band, and nominated by other metal magazines) while letting AP awards to the "warped tour" bands. A7x is too big of a band to even be competing here. I can think of many possible nominees like Zack Hansen or someone else. 2. This some bullshit! No offence to OM&M, nothing he does is impressive! JB probably deserved it, but I would think that most of ABR's fans aren't even interested in this award. Jacky Vincent (even though I can't stand Ronnie Radke) should have won as well. His talent was praised by the likes of Rusty Cooley, etc. I know he's got to have a lot a votes, surprisingly enough still less than the OM&M (wat). I totally get it if it was Austin Carlile who had won something like AP's best vocal. However it is clear that Philip Manansala was outmatched technical wise Overall, we all understand that any awards such such Grammy, MVA, etc. are all about popularity contest. This however takes bullshit to another level!

Synyster Gates is fast but Phil's leads feel more tasteful. Not looking to start an argument, just trying to hopefully give you some insight as to why people like me voted for Phil. I've been playing guitar for close to six years and I still believe that Phil is better lol.

Synyster and JB are the two best on this list. I mean just listen to them play. They can shred and solo and actually sound good. Phil is a good guitarist I like his work but JB is a greeeaattt guitarist very advanced and Synyster has done this for years and is fantastic as well.

I'm a big fan of Of Mice & Men, but Phil only won because the band is very popular. Jacky Vincent and Synyster Gates are much better. Less sloppy in my opinion. I personally think Jacky should've won, his shredding capabilities are unfuckingbelievable.

Honestly, I don't think that Lee is playing numbers as impressive as Phil. I do think that That's the Spirit was an amazing record but Lee hasn't played better than Phil since the Suicide Season record. Either way, I love both bands and both guitarists have influenced me in many ways.
