I'm Turk , living in Izmir. My grandparents came to Izmir from Thessolaniki and Kos Island. So i growth with both culture which is %99.9 same . My grandfather (RIP) was watching Turkish news at TRT(Turkish Radio Television) then he was switching to EPT for Greeks. We dont need to have harm feelings on eachothers. drwladimirdr You know that the Croatian Ustaša militia killed more Serbians than the occupation of the Ottomans. Study history properly and hate those that really did injustice to your people during WW2. During the Ottoman occupation, a lot of Serbs and Croats plus other ethnic groups collaborated with the Ottomans to steal and kill from their people to get money and rewards from the Ottoman rulers. Unfortunately, it is your people who did the most cruelty towards your own people. I am not saying that the Ottoman rulers were not saints but as I said the greed of the people turned on one another. These were very sad and hard times in history. Between the Ottomans and Serbs, there were over 60 battles and so many sieges. In a battle, the casualties are from warring two parties and thus these are casualties in wars. I am not condoning the expansion of an Empire but this was how Empires grew. I dislike fanatic nationalism but it destroys any kind of unity amongst cultures.

I have written my thesis on a greek village in imvros and I came to know many great greeks in that village. However they told me super sad stories about the past, so did turkish people. the both nations have suffered a lot, but i truly believe that it will all be better after all. my father is a turk and my mother is a greek :) I like greeks pretty much, quite easy-going and friendly people! amazed by their local cultures and great sense of humour.
