The manual doesn't cover some basics. We had to fit this bike into a small car and needed to remove the front wheel to do so.
The front wheel has an electric motor in the hub, not as straightforward as
a normal bike, but not too difficult. I included some comments about the bike but not a full review. Oh, it's not just a ladies bike, apologies for title.
The bike cost £550 from Halfords last year and though the battery says 20km range, that's only in permanent use on full power. We did about 30 miles using power only if necessary and mostly on setting 1 (of 3). And the battery still shows 75% charge! Best let it get very low before recharge as Lithium Ion batteries don't like top-ups; they get confused!
It will handle a decent incline easily (on full) and at 22kg is only 6kg heavier than my normal Carrera Crossfire non-electric hybrid.
Battery locks in place and can only be removed with a key and the handlebar control is very clear indicating power setting in use and battery power left.
This is my partner's bike, she uses it because a knee replacement makes peddling on inclines difficult but on this bike, she leaves ME standing!
Great Bike. Halfords have supplied this and bike and my previous bike. I personally wouldn't go anywhere else.
Recent issue: Battery is switched on/off by its own switch. While riding, the on/off handlebar control is used. This now has an apparent fault... riding on flat, no assist needed, power turned off on control panel. Then it won't come back on without stopping, switching battery off then on and all is well. Need to return to Halfords to find out more.
