I am sharing my 14 years of Experience with how to get your document Apostille in India. And how to Apostille the Document from the Ministry of External Affairs in India.
To get an Apostille for your document in India, you need to follow these process:
1). Determine the type of document: The first step is to determine the type of document you want to Apostille. It can be a personal document such as a birth certificate, marriage certificate, educational certificate or a commercial document such as a power of attorney, articles of incorporation, or a certificate of origin.
2). Obtain a certified copy of the document: Once you have identified the document, you need to obtain a certified copy of it. This can be done by approaching the issuing authority of the document, such as the educational institution or the registrar of births and deaths.
3). Notarization: The next step is to get the document notarized by a notary public. The notary public will verify the authenticity of the document and attest to its genuineness.
4). Attestation: The document then needs to be attested by the Home Department or the General Administration Department of the respective state government. This step is necessary to confirm the authenticity of the notary public's signature.
5). Apostille: The final step is to get the document Apostilled by the Ministry of External Affairs. You can either submit the document in person or by post to the Ministry of External Affairs along with the prescribed fee. Once the document is Apostilled, it will be deemed to be legally recognized in all countries that are signatories to the Hague Convention.
