Now, I’m still never quite sure on how many spaces after a period, (is it one or two? We were taught to use only one space after a period, in writing class, MANY MANY MOONS AGO, however, when we were taught “typing / computer-data processing, we were told to use TWO spaces, after a period !?) Also, I’m never sure of the correct amount of space(s) to use, before or after an exclamation mark/question mark, and before or after, brackets. Even though you don’t add an extra S after the apostrophe, you would still pronounce Thomas’ /tomasiz/ ( Ex: St.Thomas’ Hospital in London). Phonetically speaking, the S is optional or omitted more often than not, with surnames ending in S like Roberts, Williams, Connors, or Adams.
