Scored big time today, rabbits, deer, and ponies; what can be better than that? My son proposed to my daughter in law in the Grayson Highlands.Beautiful hiking, but all the rocks make it very hard as well. Keep up the good work!!

I thoroughly enjoy your videos. That looked like rough terrain and the wind was unrelenting. Such a bonus to see the wild ponies. You and Bluegrass are rocking the trail!

Glad you enjoyed it! It was rough and difficult, but one of the more enjoyable part of the trail

Hi Chuck! Great video! ❤ I am so grateful that you shared your trek through Grayson Highlands! I forgot how rocky it is! 😮 It brought me back in time to when I was there, and I enjoyed this revisit through your eyes 😊 Great campsite with a spa at the end of your day! 👍 Stay safe! ❤

This section of trail is very rough with stones, rocks, and fallen trees! Be careful! The soaking of your feet in chilly stream must be great!
@ChuckHowell-OutdoorsАй бұрын
That stream was a Godsend!

Wow! That wind was kicking in the beginning! Great Epic views on here! I imagine those ponies are used to hikers on the trail. Those rocks look like they could be brutal on your feet. that stream looks refreshing! Which is worst for you the mud or the rocks? Great video!!
@ChuckHowell-OutdoorsАй бұрын
It depends. Rocks are generally harder on the body, but mud is horrible if you’re on a steep decline.

Thanks. It’s gotten a little less rocky in the section where we are currently.

Great video of the Grayson Highlands! The plants near the end were (I think) ramps. They are by far the most pungent member of the onion/garlic family. They are not quite so strong when cooked, but when eaten raw the "aroma" can be detected later in one's perspiration. An annual spring trip to the mountains to get ramps used to be a tradition for many folks in the Piedmont and Foothills regions.

Funny. I met a person on trail today that collects them and was telling me the same thing.
