My section hike on the Appalachian Trail in late February 2023. I started at the Amicalola Falls State Park and ended at Dick's Creek Gap (AT mi 70) for a roughly 80 mi total trip. I prepared for weather to be below freezing but was "rewarded" with much warmer weather than expected. Low was 39f and high was about 75f. The weather for most of the hike was windy, foggy, and a light rain with few hours of partly cloudy sunshine here and there. Luckily no thunderstorms!
On the day of the start there were about 330 Thru Hikers registered at the ranger station. At the end I heard the number was over 450. I met a few section hikers, but most of the people on trail were beginning their thru hike.
This video is pretty lengthy as it includes all my commentary and nearly every clip I recorded during the hike. I really wanted to capture as much as possible so everyone can see as much of the trail as possible.
