Our house was built in 1912 in east Texas. Every door in our house, and it is a large house…4,025 sq. ft. and has 6 outside doors. Two of the doors upstairs that lead out to the balcony and both have skeleton key locks. The upstairs was added in 1934/35 so those kinds of skeleton keys were still used in the 1930’s….at least in rural east Texas. We bought this house 34 years ago. I keep the keys for each door that has a skeleton key tied to a ribbon and on the glass door knob. Hope that helps. Nancy Curtis, Price, Texas

Great find and for sure go back. I enjoy the history as much if not more than the finds. I have to pull thus one up on the tv so I could see. Getting old sucks. I need coke bottle glasses to see my tablet any more. Lol. My eyes get so tired. Thankfully my friend hooked up my tv's so I can get KZfaq on them and I can at least watch you there. *a Perspective:* *I'm an alumni, University of Memphis, Memphis State University* on my diploma, Class of 1981, my degrees are in Sociology, History, and Journalism. At varying times , beginning in High School, I researched several subjects of the Civil War. I must note, although my accredited education was fully in Tennessee Schools, save courses I completed for Executive Business/Management, and a more recent Class through Yale University, my place if Birth was Chicago, IL, Northside, mere boocks from Wrigley Field, *"GO CUBS !!!".* My Dad relocated us to NW Tennessee, his home area, just in time for me to enter 1st grade. (A decision I was not in favor of, always missed my home area and longed to return to, I was bonded with my environment and it does impact a child and their life forward. I adjusted to the area, had an abundant value of friends, yet always longed to go home. With this in mind, I was in the South during Integration 9f the Schools. Not one racial subject arose in my experience or in the block of classes 1 - 8. The High School had 1 minor situation. *This reflects the fact that prejudices are learned and/or acquired through ones home/immediate environment. It is also a behavior associated the Human Lower Mind, (aka Ego Mind, aka Adolescent Mind), where all fear based and negative Thought Energies reside. The Higher Mind, aka Mature Mind, hold all Positive Thought Energies. It routinely requires a habit of being "Conscious in Thought" + "Applying Higher Mind" to establish a practice of Mature Mindedness. A ch9ice, decision, and actions, that overwhelmingly serve the individual with experiencing a far more positive desirable Life Journey Experiences, as it supports thie fact that we Create our own Reality, whichbis defined by the *"Universal Law of Attraction", and it is Absolute.* ref: "Quantum Physics Science" I further relate this to, it being of the *"Divine Design".* The Civil War, (every War for that matter), is an obseevable scenario if men and women living theough their Liwer/Ego Mind, highly displaying behaviirs that identify fears, lack of Self Value, prevalent in Greed, Insecurities, and bla5ant in Prejudices. When humans are in this state they blame, the feel threatened, and they become aggressive. It is also a state of mind that allows for those in Power, Wealth, and themselves having Greed, to easily manipulate the masses for their perceived needs and for Profits. I literally could write a book on this subject relative to the Civil War, for I have discovered what I feel, and have some evidence for, to be the measures that ked to the actions that initiated the war, and Abe Lincoln was in no manner the cause, he was an excuse for prooaganfaists to push for actions. Any ideas of there having been other than the fact the war was about Profits associated with a Free Source of Labor, learned prejudices giving a false idea that one is superior to another, and Power over People, Profits, and Envy, would be misguided ideas promoted through the very ownerships of Print Media, by those whom expected to Profit from the War, a separate nation, and Control. This is my perspective, based on information acquired through Research, Studies, and Efforting. A very like mindset is obvious today, however there are far more Realized Minds that offset the situation, and their consciousness is growing towards a greater Harmony and Wellbeing for all. Just got around to watching this morning. Great GA button! Probably not a lot of them around! Still some promise there especially for more CW finds.

Gotta love finding a skeleton key. I’ve only found one and it wasn’t whole. We just never know what we will find in places that look like nothing. Just goes to show research pays off. Never seen a buckle that looks like that before. That’s different. Awesome story behind that button. I would definitely get back there and get away from where the houses are now and more torch the woods and open fields.

Todd Great video Nice button find!! You need to hunt that area. We have been hunting an area for years and it keeps producing great finds. Wish I could find CSA gear. Most of our finds are US. I'm thankful for that. Keep up the great work

The buckle could be what is called a Conway buckle. They are used on horse tack. Newer ones look a bit different. But where the leather would slide through had a spike stick up and would stick into a hole in the leather to stop the leather from moving through. Google Conway buckle..

HI... I almost fell off my chair when I seen ya show us skeleton key!!

I am in the process of hunting/detecting a portion of my property. I am trying to figure out the age of the relics I have found.. age of a possible home site. I found zinc canning lids. Plus other things. Hoping this will give me some sort of age point??

In all your roaming, rambling and researching, have you run across the surname Phelps? I have been researching this name for over 30 years. I have been told that Augustus was born "somewhere" in Viginia. He ended up in Georgia. I know from his headstone he was bornin 1803. From there back is a mystery. Every group I look on talks about records being lost back then due to fires.....

That part looked to be part of a 18 th c dresser pull I think you should go the house might date back to your frame late 1700’s don’t be to sure to quick to say it’s not there a lot of those items that could date to the 1700’s weather it’s the house your looking for or not
