I bought the Samsung S24 Ultra (as an iPhone user) to see if it's actually worth switching to. These are my first impressions. And no, I'm not going to return it.

You need to activate the gesture Navigation
@raigner
@raigner 3 ай бұрын
2 tips: 1. You can set gesture navigation and uses similar gestures to iOS, but works even better, so it eases moving around 2. You don't need to go all the way to you settings to adjust stuff, just pull down the notification shade for quick toggles, if you need to see all your toggles swipe down in the shade to see them, and if you need to set a specific setting you can just ling press it in the quick toggle to get granular settings immediately

I got the Galaxy Note 20 (was on sale and my first Samsung phone in years since having Huawei) I didn't think I'd have so much fun with it and having the pen and bixby automation is something I don't want to get rid of ever. I also like using Samsung Dex and Link to Windows (never knew about this). The thing that surprised me was that this is my first phone I don't want to use a phone case since the plastic back feels nice and grippy plus looks good. So, there's too many things that I get from Andorid that I won't go to any Apple product (I like customising the device as it makes it feel like mine and not the companies phone).

I returned my S24 ultra after a week. I really liked the build quality and the display. Though, I could not deal with a fingerprint sensor that was not consistent, and a face unlock that does not work in poor lighting situations…so at night or in a dark room don’t expect it to be of use. Another issue is that banking apps and the like cannot use the face unlock/recognition to unlock apps, so you have to rely on the fingerprint sensor that is unfortunately inconsistent. The notes app that I use and rely heavily on, on my iPhone 15pro is steps above in functionality than the notes app on the Samsung device. I didn’t want to have to search for third party apps for functionality. The display is better than the iPhone display. I found the camera took great pictures, but still not as good as the iPhone. I would have kept it if it weren’t for the poor performance of the fingerprint sensor and the face unlock! For the price of that phone they need to work consistently!

Every flagship smartphone takes super pictures and video's and is blazing fast. 97% of all smartphone users don't even see the differences. I'm a SMARTPHONE user so I want the best screen (dpi/brightness/anti-glare), best battery, best/most usablility and productivity options, best gaming- and multi-media experience, best personalization options and best innovation. I want DEX, KNOX, S-PEN, call recording, multi-tasking, multi-window, fingerprint scanner, best screen, widgets, themes, integration with windows, the biggest eco-system (Samsung SmartThings), fast charging, fast wireless charging and I want AI. On all these aspects the S24 Ultra is destroying the iphone 15 PM big time. So why keep people buying these antiquated, restricted and very very limited iphones?

While I don't agree with the camera quality being better on the Iphone as your arguments were that it adds effects on top of the picture like bloom and saturation, which can also be added on the S24 in-app after taking the picture, to add on top of it, the S24 Ultra has much more details due to the 200MP camera vs the 50-ish on the Iphone 15 Pro Max. I do understand it isn't an in-depth review that goes into the tinier details and specifications so I commend you on a good easy-to-watch video that doesn't overwhelm the viewer! Great job!

Yeah, I have both. But I'm too deep into the Apple ecosystem to switch completely. The Samsung phone is awesome, it's smarter and the S-Pen is super useful for my work. But the camera on the iPhone 15 Pro Max is a bit better. Just being able to watch youtube on a floating display is a huge difference. Real true multitasking.

Im from apple, just got the s24U, I was so disappointed and returned it after a few hours. Web pages loaded 3-4 times slower, screen had a blue tint, apps like spotify were slower to open, camera was OK, nothing crazy, apple 13 looked better with simple shots and focused better. the corners dug into my hand. I loved the antiglare screen though but that wasnt enough. Maybe the next pixel for me.

I use both Android (mostly the Pixel series) and iOS. Planning on getting the Pixel 8 Pro as my secondary phone to the 15 Pro Max. The S24 Ultra seems like a great phone but I just can’t find it in me to get another Samsung mobile device. If you like the S24 series, I suggest looking at the Pixel line as well. That’s one of the best things about Android there are options for about everyone. I also think it is better to be in both ecosystems than to be in just one but that is just my personal opinion.

It’s a great phone. I have both to me though. I don’t think it’s that big of a jump from the S2 three ultra. I think it’s more just kind of Apple in the way that it’s just improved upon. Honestly the AI is kind of cool but you don’t really use it a ton andthe main things with the AI that I would use the most specifically change in things and removing things from photos works about 50% of the time considering AI was the biggest thing pushed. It is what it is still a great phone, but I would say marginally better than 23 which was a great phone already.
