I actually use a MacBook Pro from 2010 lol. I updated the battery many times. Removed the disc drive and added two ssd’s in there. And put in 16gb of ram. It says it supports 8 max but this model actually supports 16 if you update the OS. Runs perfectly fine for what I need lol

I like the dynamic island when it's doing something. But when it's just sitting there, taking up space, it's a distraction. It reduces usable screen area more than the notch did, and when looking at pictures or videos full-screen, it is more noticeable. As you say, there aren't tons of apps that take advantage of it yet, so for me it's a net negative.

I upgraded from an iPhone 11Pro to an iPhone 14Pro. And it turned out to be the best decision I'd ever made. Although the iPhone 11 Pro has not been a problem for me, staying ahead of the technology allows me to appreciate how much faster and better the phone will become. I play a lot of mobile games while traveling, therefore my battery life is frequently depleted and I have game performance issues. However, none of these issues have occurred with the iPhone 14Pro. It performs admirably in all of the games I play.

Great follow up video! I definitely love my iPhone 14 Pro Max. My biggest complaint is the camera system is lagging behind Samsung and Google in optical zoom and astrophotography. The main camera is amazing! And I always zoom with my feet when I can. But sometimes I can’t. Or sometimes I want to read something super far away that my eyes can’t see. 10X zoom would be overkill and maybe rarely used, but also nice to have at the same time for a “Pro” phone.

Trying to get this phone since launch day and the availability is just nuts. No stocks at the store in dubai and I asked a friend to check the stores in the UK as well. I've given up trying to get it. Really wanted one though since I shoot videos on my phone for KZfaq. And my current phone is 4 years old so this could have been a great upgrade. I guess I will have to wait for the 15 pro max 😅

I’m super happy with my 14 Pro Max. I really like the AOD with the dimmed wallpaper. The interaction with the dynamic island works just like regular notifications. Tap to open, long press to expand.

I’ve got a 13 Pro Max - I have never plugged it in. Only MagSafe has been used to charge this phone lol. I even 3D Printed a TPU insert to block the Lightning connector. :) Battery has not degraded noticeably whatsoever - I even set it on the charger every night. iOS reports it as 99% health after 1+ year of daily use. Battery Grapher (a cool third party app on the App Store that also works for iPads and Apple Watches) reports that my average battery life is 34 hours. Airdrop for any large files I need to share (it helps if your home network isn’t buns - I’ve got a Ubiquiti AP as my wifi access point). I could 100% live with a portless iPhone no problem.

I have the iPhone X and the AirPod pro first gen. I want to get this phone but man there’s this part of me that says it’s STILL not enough of an upgrade. I need something that will nearly change my whole experience not just an iteration of what I already have. Sadly that was more common half a decade ago and not so much these days. A dynamic island and an always on display that uses the whole screen doesn’t really impress me.

@@Warrantti in the surface until you start shooting photos and videos at night...and battery life is just bad in iPhone X. The display is also smaller due to large bezel and curved sides which adds more bulk. And the speakers are way better than iPhone X. A12 chip is the minimum for live text etc. Even face ID with face mask is from iPhone 12 I think. And so much more.

I went from an XS to a 14 pro, been 2 months… besides the camera and MagSafe you don’t notice much, always on display is cool too I guess, whenever I don’t need it I flip my phone upside down or turn on low power mode

Ordered mine yesterday (11/26) through a major US mobile carrier due to trade-in promotion. Estimated arrival is Dec 25-Jan 8. I am coming from an 11 Pro and decided to go with the Pro Max this time. I am not that into tech anymore so I was planning on keeping my 11 Pro for awhile but seeing some clips then in person, sealed the deal for me. It getting very close to being Apple’s ultimate design goal of being a continuous sheet of glass that melts into the rest of the device. I would argue we are already there with the dynamic island because it added functionality to the previous dead space

Thank you for this video. I am on the fence about going to iPhone 14 Pro Max (never had an iPhone, always had Android) because of the ProRaw and ProRes data transfer limitation using the lightning port. Have you tried at all to move some 10GB or even 100GB chunks of data? Through the lightning port? Through Air Drop? Through other? How will you solve the issue going forward (or, will you just continue to avoid using ProRes or avoid transferring large files permanently)? Please discuss. Beautiful footage and helpful review.

If anyone is still trying to get the 14 series iPhone, keep checking store stocks. You’ll find one WAY faster than the online shipping times. Ship times when I was looking at the end of October were listed as late November. But I found the model I was looking for within 3 days and at my local Apple Store by just checking Apple Store stocks through the Apple Store app a few times a day.

The AOD does drain some battery but nothing compared to all of the competitors, tests show that. So if you're okay with the Android battery drain for AOD, you should be fine with the drain on iOS .

14 pro is the first iPhone that I actually don’t like. I hate the squared design with an edge to edge screen. I loved it on the 4/5, but it doesn’t work in this era. I can’t wait until they go back to the rounded design. Dynamic island is also annoying. They try to do too much with it when playing music, timer, etc.

Even if you have an iPhone 12 (Pro) or 11 (Pro) you don’t need to upgrade. You don’t need to upgrade every year or even every three years. Most iPhones work really good even after 3 years. Sometimes a battery change is definitely enough for most people.

Thanks for the review! I’m loving my 14 Pro Max. It took two weeks to get mine (space black, 128), which I ordered in mid-Nov., weeks into Apple’s delay announcement. My step daughter ordered hers the day before I did (gold, 128) and she’s still waiting. Called our service provider yesterday and they said another at least 5 week wait. That’s a tentative 2 month wait! If she didn’t mind Android, I’d encourage her to get the Pixel 7 Pro.

Ordered a purple pro max from T-Mobile directly. They said my shipping date would be between December 12 and December 26. I got it thanksgiving weekend.

the battery life of my iphone 14 pro max also sucks. only 8 hours on display time even always on is turned off. some ppl get 11-13 hours on display time with the ip 14 pro max. i hope the upcoming ios 16.2 update will improve the battery life of my iphone 14 pro max

On launch day my carrier (Xfinity) had a massive sale on all iPhones the 14 Pro Max was $700! How could I say no lol. The 14 Pro Max is an amazing phone I don't have a care about the cameras however I can say it's an improvement from the iPhone 12 Pro and the 11 Pro Max as I used to have the 11 Pro Max and my parents still use the 12 pro. Video is also way better. Screens are 1000000x better than the iPhone 11 Pro Max. Apple did a great job with this iPhone and I only had to wait 1 week for it to ship. If you have an iPhone 12 or below you will notice a massive difference in speed,camera quality, screen, etc.

Jonathan, 1 question, does it matter if it’s iphone or something else for dolby atmos on air pods pro 2? To me, the spatial audio sounds more “spatial” when playing from my iPhone compared to ipad or mac. Is it just me?
