I got the 14-inch M2 Pro. I used to have the 16-inch M1 Pro and I found it way too big to carry. Since I don't edit videos, the 14-inch is a perfect fit for me. Very impressive how much of a portable powerhouse it is.

I just put in an order for a a refurbished 16 in MacBook pro M1 Max 10-core CPU and 32 core GUP 1 TB for $2200 (got an additional 15% off from the $2689 it was set at). I'm really looking forward to seeing how good M1 Max works with the 4k120 from my A7siii. Thanks for the concise, but honest and thorough POV on the new m2. Looks awesome, but cant pass up the great value from m1 max

@@kas4751 The games are played in rounds ( up to 15-30) So mechanics are really important, but there is a meta game for how to spend the ingame money to strategically buy weapons, grenades, armor and what not So if a team is broke and can't all buy the good weapons, they will have an " eco round" where they sacrifice blowing all their money to get mediocre stuff and still likely lose the round, to give them a better chance later.

I do find in my 14" the DSP to be more aggressive than usual. Sound really shines below 45% volume. I know some YT'ers only test at 100% or close to that (*cough Crab rave) but for these it makes sense at a lower volume.

I've waited with buying new ARM stuff up until M2 Max just because I wanted to wait through "baby-problems" with initial product. Now I see it was good idea, because now we have HDMI 2.1, Wi-Fi 6e, more screens to attach and more features so I'm better future-proof myself with this decision. And performance wise not much change - so I have slightly better thing than M1-gen without need to buying that again. Just got yesterday my 14" M2 Max with 64GB of RAM and 4TB storage. I'm very happy with it, especially that I upgraded from 2016 model which is already quite old.

Hey Dave, thanks for the great video. I'm curious about the Blender benchmark you did. Is there an official benchmark? Or is it that you just downloaded the laundromat demo file and hit render and used the time? I downloaded it and there was a file in it that said the benchmark was for CPU and it was six frames, not just one. Is this how you test it? The time is a bit too low for 6 frames in my opinion, but if that is the case, these new cpus are a lot more amazing than I thought.

TSMC's delayed 3nm node limited Apple's options for improving performance this year, not just with M2 Macs but also with the A16. Within the past couple of weeks TSMC said that their main 3nm was back on track, so hopefully this/next year's products will have a noticeable performance improvement.

I just bought the M1 Max 16” last year and I’m on to my 6th month. Man, it was hard to get a hold of those. Not switching to the M2 until their full upgrade. Worked it pretty damn hard and it’s still rock solid. But I won’t play Shadow of the TR anymore cause fans heat up pretty quickly after an hour or so w full specs. No prob w Adobe premiere and all related. So no thanks M2 I got what I needed. 😅
