Mohamed El Gamal depends what circumstances you are in. if you travel alot, then the 13'' is better. if you want more power as standard then the 15'' is better. i love 13'' because its so much power in such a small space. but the 15'' would be better for watching movies/videos

This laptop has lasted me thousands of hours of programming over the past six years. I've been waiting for a worthy replacement but could never bring myself to purchase a model with the ridiculous touch bar. I recently purchased a 2021 MBP 14" base spec silver. Not really in a way they're right about something being expensive when there's something equivalent for a little less but it's most new Apple users who seem to spend a lot on something they don't really need which they're going to use just for browsing but for 1299 the MacBook Pro is much better than the new MacBook in my opinion

I always come back to this video to bring back the memories of this MacBook. This would be the last good MacBook Steve Jobs would’ve liked. Apple killed MagSafe and the ports, but the 2021 MacBooks are going to have these back. But they killed the glowing logo the main icon of the MacBook, i can’t believe that they killed it despite the screen being this because I wouldn’t mind if it was thicker cause i love that glowing logo.

Marco Jim No I really don't think they'll discontinue it. In face I just ordered one, 256GB. I think it's worth it to buy it now since it has all of the ports that the 2016 one is missing, and uses similar CPUs.

Mine comes in tomorrow with a full upgrade on everything. I've owned this same computer with the standard specs and i was impressed with how it ran. Can't wait to see how it runs with 16 gigs of ram and 3.1ghz

Tony Stark how so? I use a pc and i can do all mac does but better and much more. I use photoshop and sony vegas, make music on fl studio and run games at max settings, no problems.

OMG this thing boots ULTRA fast! I went to the apple store today and this thing is awesome! It boots almost as fast as a tablet! And the force touch trackpad is great. My fav feature is that the click is so quiet! I want so bad but I can't afford it >_

hey I've been checking for some info on that, I hear these new SSDs are faster but no mention of boospeed anywhere , will it boot in 10 seconds or below , my macbook air already boots in 15 seconds. is this faster ?

I like that the new trackpad is quieter. Sometimes, I feel like that click sound is going to disrupt my classmates when we are quietly working or wake the entire house lol even though it really is almost silent. Its just that you pick it up so much more when there is hardly any noise around you. I end up enabling tap to click just to make sure no body can hear me, though when typing quickly, the keyboard isn't any better. I would love to try the new trackpad out sometime. Hopefully, my local Apple retailer will get some in on display in a few days.

If you want more portability and just a casual laptop to browse the web and use social media and emails get either the air or new MacBook 12 inch with colors which looks amazing, and if you are a heavy worker or video editor or something get you the pro cause the performance is better

***** on top of the "ssds are more expensive" thing, also note that the type of ssd apple uses (M.2) is particularly expensive within the ssd market. There are very few manufactures making these drives, and the rest of the industry is just starting to change.

***** it's not just SSD it's a PCIe SSD which is much faster than any other regular SSD available in the market. They are not only charging you money for the storage space they are also charging you for the technology behind it and a lot of people will be happy to pay for it.

If you don't make it expect massive margins in anything including small things like clothes to big things like cars.

@@lillian3852 I am still using it to this day and I can say, it has never let me down. it didn't get any slower, performance is still like it was the first day i got it. Battery health is currently on 82% which i think is quite good considering it's been in daily use for almost 5 Years now.

This is before they removed most ports and they replaced them with 4 USB-C ports and before they got rid of the startup chime, glowing Apple logo and before that butterfly keyboard

Do you think the graphical and processor upgrade will make the difference between being able to watch 4K video on KZfaq? I got my 13" Retina just a few weeks ago and Apple have said I can get an exchange if I want, would it be worth waiting a few days to get a new one? Please help me out!

***** I can watch them, but they do little skips every few seconds. I've downloaded 4K videos and I tried watching on other websites and they worked fine. On another comment section, someone told me that KZfaq's 4K videos are more intensive so that's why I have the problem

***** I've worked something out. Something is wrong with Chrome. Even on KZfaq on Safari and Firefox, 4K videos run fine. I do prefer chrome in every way apart from that so I'm gonna see if I can figure it out:)

Next time you do reviews on MacBooks or iMacs, don't bother to look at the paperwork, just worry about the differences between other apple products. It is a waste of time.

Is your MacBook no longer fitting your needs? Does it not handle your day to day task or work needs? If the answer is yes, then by all means upgrade. Nobody else can tell you if an upgrade is going to fit your needs if we aren't told your needs.

Cody Ash my mac problems are / 1- high temperature and load fan sound when editing videos. 2- short battery life . 3- getting slow when play high reselution video . do you think the new macbook pro will solve my problems

I don't see a reason for you to upgrade. Given that the fan gets loud when editing videos. I suggest wait for a totally refreshed/revamped MacBook Pro 13". :D maybe in a year or two. Waiting is the best, brother. :) Hope I helped. Just got my MacBook Pro 13", mid-2014 last week, and I love this laptop! HAHAHA! =)

***** good call! :) but the iMac & the Mac Pro's price is obviously more expensive than the MacBook Pro 13", and they're not portable. That's why I suggested that he wait for a revamped MacBook Pro 13' / 15" that has better processors and all the other good stuff. Haha! Then again, if portability & price is not a factor in the upgrade, then go for the iMac or the Mac Pro. :D

Ethan DeMarco I agree with Slimecrazy234, the i7 on the 13" is dual core and won't likely give much differences. 16gb of ram is definitely worth it because you'll be future proofing yourself for any large tasks you might want to do.

The CPU will rarely be the bottleneck unless you're doing very intensive tasks (i.e. video rendering, 3D modeling, CAD etc...), though even those tasks would benefit more from the additional RAM than the marginal CPU upgrade. You cannot upgrade your RAM in a Macbook after you buy it, so the more you get when you're first speccing the machine the better.

Don't know the hate on macbook pros, I just got one and it works like a charm. It is very speedy and light. If people are telling you not to buy this laptop, they probably never tried one or are jealous they can't afford it. Don't let people fool you! The macbook pro is truly a great laptop and it works better than my other laptops!

Review what exactly? If you want to see a proper review, then go to notebookcheck or anandtech. This YT channel is good for unboxings mostly. Buying an exact same "updated" notebook doesn't make sense, but i guess it's his $$ so more power to him.

Purchased this brand new in 2017 and I still use it today. Commenting on it right now. Specs: Intel Core i5 250 GB of SSD Storage 16GB of RAM 13" Display Apple, please bring back the ports (especially the MagSafe and SD card). Bring back the glowing Apple logo as well.

Hi Mike, Great video as always! I just wanted to ask if I should get the Macbook Air 13-inch 2014, or the same computer but the 2015 model? If I choose the 2015 model, it would be a $260 price jump. So in other words, would the inprovements on the 2015 model be worth the extra? Thanks for the input! Keep making amazing and simplistic content as you do :)

Before anybody asks, the reason why the rMBP 15 inch didn't get any upgrades because quad-core Broadwell is not released yet. the rMBP 15 inch uses quad-core processors exclusively so no upgrades till Intel releases them.
