The Air 2nd gen came before the Apple Pencils, so it does not support either the 1st or 2nd gen Apple Pencils ENTIRELY.

Okay, thank you for the explination but will it change through IOS updates? Because the software changes through IOS updates and the latest IOS is IOS 15.

@@toolbox1610I believe not. The reason I think that is the fact that the iPad 9 came out a couple months ago, and the 2nd Apple Pencil came out way before the iPad 9, but the iPad 9 doesn't support the 2nd gen Apple Pencil, so I think it won't support the Apple Pencils regardless of iOS updates.

@@toolbox1610 it’s a hardware thing. The glass has an extra layer on top which communicates with the Apple Pencil. So no software update will ever change that sadly.

@@dawnepace4092 Probably not, because as explained in this video, even though the 2nd Gen iPad has a lightning port, it will not work with the Apple Pencil. I believe that it needs extra hardware to support styluses.

Apple Pencil 1 or 2 does not work with Air 2. You need a iPad Air 3 or later.

yall are dumb this is basically ipad air 2 because all of the pencils work for ipad air 4 and other ipad pros, if the apple pencil (1st gen) was plugged in to an ipad air 2 then a bluetooth pair would pop up

@@rubixx5579 no it is. the side bezels are too thick. The iPad Air 3 in is in the body of an iPad Pro 10.5 inch, which incidentally has thinner bezels.
